I used to drive this road a lot when I first got my license. Then my son bought a place in New Boston NH after he got married.  Now if I want to go visit him I have to drive that road to get to his place from mine.  Always a pleasure!
Spending time with my grandkids gets in the way of finishing my car but I don't regret it!

Tom that looks like a real cool/fun drive! 🙂

Went over to my buddy Dales today to see how he was getting along on the '33 Dodge p.u.. He had the mock up engine/trans mounted.  He was concerened about the very little pedal/ foot room. Looked every thing over with him, first moving the cab back 2". Gained about  2" where trans tunnel would be, better anyway.

After more thinking and looking.....I said "Well..I could widen the front of the cab like I did my coupe". We measured the cab taper, front of door to back of door was 7". If we added 5" to center that would gain him another 2.5" of foot room for a total of 4.5",  still giving the cab a 2" taper.

He came over with wife and daughter to get an idea of the gain on my coupe. They gave their approval if he goes that route. He was worried about the cost, I told him I would need his help and done deal. I owe him anyway😁  I killed my high power Yamaha stereo amp several years ago, didn't have money for another. He bought the same model unit on E-bay used and give it to me, wouldn't take anything for it. New cost about $800, used 200/300.

He just texted me, he just bought a beat up '82 dodge pickup with a 2yr old rebuild on a 360/727 trans, tilt steering column. Score, full of useable parts😁

Steve....sounds like that is going to be good build....on my '40 Ford I stretched the cab 6" made a whole lot of difference ...that '33 widening the cab should also make a difference...don't believe you'll notice it on the exterior....but around the grille  might pose a problem??? Extra metal panels on the grille sides?

Ed, he's running fenderless and using the same Chevy grille as me. The upper shape of the Chevy grille shell is the same basic shape as the Dodge, it just won't have the big kick out at the bottom. The Dodge lower has the extra lower sides metal that would look funny anyway fenderless.  If I widen his cab 5" he will still be 5-6" narrower than my coupe, so no problem there. We will have to build a hood anyway because of the extra length. We will try my modified grille shell on his to see how he likes the extra depth and shortened highth i did to mine.

Went back over to lend thoughts/ideas on Dodge p.u. and brought my grille shell. After viewing more and we tossed different ideas around, i think i came up with a solution for foot room without major surgery. By putting a raise up in the floor near the toe board under the pedals (a shelf to rest your heels), should move it up toward the upper part of the trans tunnel gaining several inches of foot room.🙂

Set the grille shell up....by chance he has the same radiator i do (except  I have 4 core, he has 3 core) New '32 ford aluminium short version set for SBC water.  The height was perfect , the added depth good too. So we will be cutting his to the same except for the lower crossmember fitment trim up. I think it looks just right for the Dodge.

Hard to get pic, his tiny shed....the camera was up against the back wall so the grille looks fat that close up. 😁

I know I've said it before, I had a 1938 Plymouth P/U I still kick my butt over getting rid of it.

It's done.  Had it sitting in what little sun we had yesterday to iron out a wrinkle (non adjustable top).
Hurried to crank out a headliner for a Dakota and started on the bench for the ford this morning.
It's getting the whole interior done and a color change. Everything inside was blue and now it's going to original materials (brown/tan color).

I've been wanting to do a full 30's era interior for years. I finally get to do it.  8)

On a side note;;; I sent the jeep over to get a new exhaust manifold installed. Usually I do this but need to thin the project list.

I'm going down to Wildwood, New Jersey for the weekend. The governor is "allowing" us to open our miniature golf. There will be some precautions and restrictions....lets see how it goes.
Have a great safe and happy Memorial Day weekend!!!

Good news Chopper. I hope it goes well. Stay safe!

Good luck Chopper and have a safe trip! Here in Massachusetts the governor has us wait to Phase 2 June 8th to open up hotels and motels and rental homes here throughout Massachusetts! I own an Eastham Cape Cod rental home on the ocean side and have not even opened it up yet and usually April and unsure how this will play out! Called my friend down there and said that it was eerily different and quite this year!
