Friday night , we packed up and headed to Goblin valley. Rolled into camp about midnight.
Haven't done that in years. 😁
Making coffee from bed is awesome.

Hiked wild horse and bell canyons. Good times.
Jeep struggled getting home though.

Trailer looks comfy Rattiac!  We drove through Glen Canyon on our way to Monument Valley a couple years ago.  Didn't realize Goblin Valley was nearby.  Got to see it next time.  Beautiful area of the country!

Looks like you had a great time and a luckily uneventful shakedown cruise.
I put the "second try" power steering line on my wife's Nissan. I thought I might have damaged the valve on the rack, but it looks like I got lucky, no leaks. Thanks be to God.
Tighten it up til it strips, then back it off a quarter turn

No leaks is good leaks!  8)

Nevada opened up some today and our Inliner meeting was scheduled ay a local cafe. I started out but had a flat on the '53, a sign? The youngest members are probably in their 50s. The 4 counties around us have had 1 death, our county no cases. The 4 counties are probably as large as Massachusetts with just a few more people than would fit in TFoch's roadster.  ;D

A sign ,  So did you head home ?
I've had a few of those signs or lil voice telling me to turn back a time or two.

We started to open up just a few days before the trip .
They were limiting numbers going into the park where the goblins are. There was a ton of people.
We decided not to go to that section and keep our distance.
Funny thing. They had a hotdog stand maybe 15ft from the bathrooms which didn't smell good and had a water faucet with a cardboard box over the handle but dogs were licking the water from the tap and crapping right by it.
We called out a couple who just walked away and not picking up after thier dog. Unreal. People are just stupid.

Called the ranger when we got home and let em know. Here's what they had to say.

"They are required by law to provide water to the hotdog stand and the only place was right next to the bathrooms but they will get after the dog owners"
This is just insane !!!

I think I'll just keep the distance thing going for life.
It's good to get out but stay away from the crowds.

Once you get out there and run into the space cadets who refuse to keep safe distance, you realize you forgot to bring the Government I Q TEST to give to these people you run into.......

If they come down with covid 19 because they wanted to mingle in crowds and damn what the medical officers say that passed the IQ test.  They will cry and moan the gov should have done more to stop them.  Oh by the way because your an idiot and we were able to identify you by facial recognition , YOUR DENIED MEDICAL HELP.

10,000 of these just demonstrated in Germany in close quarters no masks.  Enjoy your life 6 foot under.

Yes, I headed home. I believe in those little voices.
Frankly I think the virus had the right idea. State in the cities especially the sanctuary cities. It was just the fleeing rats that speed it to rural areas. It would only take 2,000 liberals to die in Vegas and Reno and Nevada could be a state again.

I had to go to town for parts and saw that the bar was open if they served food. There were hot dogs. I had a couple of beers but within a short time all ideas of distance were gone so I came home. I think I'll give the idiots a while to eliminate themselves.

They are rationing meat at the grocery store. It won't be long until my cannibal jokes aren't jokes. Where will the first case show up?

My grandparents had a small A frame cabin and the lil town at the end of the canyon had a small grocery store but it always looked closed/abandoned. The lady who owned it only sold to people she knew (locals only).
If she gave you her number, you called and placed your grocery list. She would call back an hour later and have you meet her at the back door.
Her reasoning was it kept the overhead low and she didn't like people from out of town.

It's a great idea for small towns these days.

Sounds like good reasoning to me. I live in a canyon at the end of a road.  8)

I've been looking at V8 rigs for the new long distance tow vehicle. Well something that could do it better than my jeep. Just messing around I found a jeep Wagoneer that's in decent shape (some usual rust) but it's all there.
It has a good price I've been chewing down but the only problem is its 5+hrs away.

Plan A) ;;;; drive there with the wife and attempt to drive it back.
It's a risk.

Plan B) rent a box truck and trailer.
Way too expensive.

Plan C) walk away. 😢

It's a 84 Wagoneer. 360/auto.
I've thought about getting something newer like a Durango but antique plates are cheap.
The engine is relatively unharmed, all the original equipment is there like the air cleaner, A.C. .

Even the wife said let's go get it. The devil's on my shoulder saying the same but cussing too.
The other guy is saying "let's think this through long and hard" .
I may be able to flip it if I didn't like it. Im sure no one wants to drive out there.

Do I take the chance ?
He says it leaks a bit of oil near the valve covers and no issues like overheating. He thinks the tires are too old. They look like recent Toyos AT.
