Great job!  That must have been a blast going to the first car show.  Nice work with the front marker lights.  It's the little things that make it cool.

Spending time with my grandkids gets in the way of finishing my car but I don't regret it!

looking good, I know how it feels to drive one for the first time, you have that uneasy feeling wondering if it will stay together, did you do everything right, it will get a little better each time you drive it. Looks great  and enjoy it.

It was a blast . I was smiling all day .

Drive it into the fall season, then go at the fenders one at a time.  Good looking gm body style rarely seen.

Hopefully this winter I'll get some new rear fenders for it

Are those Coker's new radial tires that look like bias plys? If they are how do you like them?

Great progress!

They are just some old school Sears Tires that a co-worker bought new in the 90's , put 2k on em' then he decided to go hotrod

Lights all wired up and also made some looms to route the wires properly .

Already had these done when the car was wired . They look cool all lit up .

The original drag-link end getting rebuilt to take care of the "Bump-steer issue" .

Here's the rebuild kit for both ends of the drag-link and also the tool I made for the end-cap bolt.

Spacers that go inside the spring. So I chose the one closest to the original.

Original internals .

The order they get installed .

The end-cap screw they sent me seemed to be a tiny bit smaller than the OE part and also the threads didnt match up.
I re-used the OE part . cleaned it up with a wire brush and put anti-sieze on .

All put together.

While I had the draglink off , I finished welding the sleeve all around and sprayed some black on .

Since I had the car out while cleaning the shop I rolled the teardrop behind the car to see if my plans for the hitch would work out . Seems all good .

Looking good Rattiac, don't slow down now!
Tighten it up til it strips, then back it off a quarter turn

Hopefully that does fix it. Gonna try and get off work a bit early tomorrow and fix the brakelights .
I noticed my brakelights were not coming on while braking unless I pushed the pedal real hard , so while trying to adjust the lil chain that activates the switch,  I broke the chain .
Fixin that, then hittin the road.

Nope not slowin down yet. Just picked me up some velcro and getting ready to sew the top up .  8)

Looks like I need to size down my pics a tiny bit .

Alright , I need some input.

I picked up a KYB steering stabilizer kit and have 2 options on mounting it.

(Option 1);
Mount it like it says in the instructions. Wich Id have to mount hanging under the axle a bit cause on top has little clearance for supspension travel .
Mounts to I-beam and tie-rod .
It would look ugly I think but I may have to .  OR

(Option 2) ;
I could mount it inline with the draglink  and hide it a bit better but the angles are a bit more off .
Basically It would u-bolt to the leafspring and the other end would go to the draglink.
I already plan to spray it flat-black to hide it better.
What'cha think ???

Funny thing, is the instructions show how to mount to an I-beam axle.

Rattiac, I don't know if this helps, but my Jeeps ran up at about a 15° angle and worked just fine.  I don't know what clearance issues you have, but could you build a frame bracket like the Vette used on their power steering ram? Here is a pic of mine, I hope this may give you an idea.

Cool that helps. Thanks.

For now Im gonna have to run it like the instructions say cause my daily driver just broke down and I gotta swap cars tonight. I'll deal with the DD this weekend.
Good thing for back-up drivers.  8)

Well since I had this all mocked up anyway. I decided to roll with it. All I had to do was a bit of grinding on my over-done draglink sleeve . Was painted black after this pic.

Works great. DEATH WOBBLE IS GONE !!!!!!

Also fixed the leakin transmission cooler (fittings) .
Decided to ditch the radidator trans cooler and used my old cooler I had laying around.
The fins were all beat up from pulling it out of the other car but I found a "fin straightener" at Lowes in the AC section and used that to fix the fins .

Of course my Mtn Dew bottle wasnt big enuf to hold coolant so I used a Tequilla bottle mounted to the firewall to break up some of the blank spot there.

Started mocking up the top. Getting it all ready to sew.

Started  marking where I was going to put snaps.

Also using some industrial velcro with the snaps.
