There will be days like that, unfortunatly i have too mamy of these days lately😁 As the saying goes.... shi#! happens.
Honestly, i've ran on to that on a model A front fender. The guy jad picked up one NOS fender and a good used fender. The "swoop" was different, not much. Dad was laughing at me as i was fighting it trying to get it closer. He said hell son, you can"t see both sides at once🤪 That wasn't what i wanted to here. Difference, between stamping mills or maybe one was just tweeked from being old??
Keep at it, you'll get there.

Thank you
sammons
.
Tonight I welded what little was left to weld on the new fender edge.
Some grinding later, the weld bead was gone and I cut down the
oversize sheetmetal to get a view of the result.
Now it looks right, in other words, like I meant it to look, and
About the same as the other side.
I guess you might not even se the difference, but it looks ?bulkier?
as at least ten inches is more than 7/16ths wider than before.

Yup-yup, going slowly forward again, the new fender edge tacked to the fender.
The swoop and the "depth" of the side looks much better than the previous version.

Thank you
sammons
and

Have patience with me, this is a blow-by-blow thing right
now, but I'm getting so frustrated with this endless work
on the fenders, I just HAVE to describe the smallest progress.
I got the inner fender edge done and tacked, after a bit of
rolling in the eglish wheel.
Then I continued with the joint between the apron and the fender.
Also the hump for when the wheel is turned and the edge around
the exhaust primaries.
I surprise myself with how difficult this is, since I already did it once.
I make a point of working on this every day to get it over with.
Yes, I'm a bit fed up.
I took the fender off the car tonight and started cutting and hammering.
Now it begun to be fun, so I quit so it will be fun and inspiring to go to
the garage and continue tomorrow.

Essex its hard not to get burnt out on a big project like yours. Weird how sometimes the first side is reasonably easy, and the second a bear, nothing seems to go as smooth as the other side did. Sometimes fab work goes backwards🫤
Keep at it!

Thank you
sammons
for the compassionate words.
It feels much better now that I have everything tacked.
Next night in the garage I have about 10 ft of tig weld to make
along all the tacked seams. I was right too, this was really fun,
To get it all cut, hammered and tacked.
Welding is always fun, looking forward to it.

Essex, i'm glad your enjoyment returned. I love watching sheetmetal go from Frankinstein's monster to Sleeping Beauty 🙂

Thanks,
sammons
It was fun once the parts were tacked together.
I didn't expect it to take this long to make the
second one, it's been exactly a month since I
started on this fender.
Now it's done anyway.
