A spare set of ignition parts doesn't take up much room and could salvage an outing. I have never been left on the side of the road by a points setup. I have been several times by HEI. Always carry a spare module now but even then.....
By the time I quit O'Reilly there were only 2 different points sets kept in stock other than the ones hanging with the small engine stuff.

I cut like 26 wires that went to the ecu on this car, binned the electric Quadrajet, bolted
on a used Holley 600 Vacuum carb and an old points distributor I got for free from a friend.
That distributor has perfect bushings, so it runs very nicely
Now instead of those 26 wires, I need ONE to get the engine to run, well if you don't
count the starter and alternator leads. It ran beautifully the whole summer, and also
now when I found out what was wrong.
More simple is more better, if you ask me.

Helped my boss load this up on his trailer using my jeep winch.  It's a 29 Dodge coupe.  History ::; This car has been at a used truck dealership for the past 28yrs that we work with.  Sitting in the display room.  When I started 25yrs ago it had a new paint job and the interior was done by a few before that by our shop.  His brother is the mechanic there and got it running about the same time . It's been sitting since.  Until now when my boss bought it under the strict rule that it stays 100% stock . It's exactly what he was looking for.

There is.  Wasn't bolted on, so we put it in the bed of his truck.

Was talking with Sid (landspeed racer guy) about his streamliner and asked if he needs anything upholstery related for it . He said he needs some exhaust plugs or covers for when he tows it to Bonneville.
He sent me patterns in the mail.  I glued those to some cardboard and added 1/2" around the radius for the seam.
One prototype sewn up and mailed back to him.  He texted back and said fits good 👍.
I'll get on sewing the rest up next week with a small modification to prevent them from coming off.
I did em in taunnau truck material. Should be easy to find on the salt.

Cool! It is always better to have a connection to a car out there. The best things about Bonneville are the pits and the sound. What it does to your car sucks.

Some of my work will be heading to Barrett Jackson AZ.
Old square body blazer is all I know.   
Going from tan to white and blue plaid.  Seems plaid is in this year.  Last year it was diamond's. 
This plaid is hard to work with.  Getting all the line's straight is the problem.  Sometimes coming off the roll everything is crooked.

It needed something to break up all that white vinyl.  So I added a blue top-stich around the boxing. 

The bad thing about a color change is, everything needs to be changed.  Seatbelts,  plastic, ect.  Im told he will handle that.
