In case i confused anybody, (i don't always describe stuff right😁),  I had to run uptown so i took a quick pic. Yes, my door jambs are filthy!

This is just my '03 Silverado drivers door, not bent lol. With the door open place socket in this area closest to center as you can get. I didn't push socket in quite far enough, you want to stay on the cowl side hinge (lower A pillar front jamb😁). When you start to close the door in, this makes the hinge a solid and will tweek the hinge/door back into the cowl and take any bulge that may have pulled out when the door blew open. Just small pushes at a time till it goes back where it should be. If you go too far your door may drop down at the back and drag on your stryker. No worrys, just bounce the door back open. If its a little low but the gap is right, you can do the same with the lower hinge and it will raise the back of the door.

Anyway, thats what i do on bonded on hinges.

Sammons ::;;;  Training is going well,  she is starting to get used to our schedule.  Taking her out every 2hrs.  Makes it through a full night now.

The other day,  I had a talk with the jeep. Said "we are going on a big trip next month  if there's anything that needs to be fixed , let me know ".
So this was his response yesterday......

Thats great Rattiac. I remember the puppy whine in the middle of the night well. Glad shes settling in well. I've managed to turn Rowdy into a couch patato, but at 7yrs he was probably about to that stage anyway😁

Well trained Jeep, lol   What went wrong?

The water pump that I put in 4yrs ago,  bearings failed.  Happened on the way to work.
Napa unit.  Just don't make parts to last anymore.
Luckily I had a flowcooler hi flow water pump brand new sitting in the box waiting for this day.
I ordered it year's ago and was on backorder.  So I installed the Napa pump and it showed up 2 weeks later.

While im at it,  the power steering box is leaking also. Gonna replace that and the hoses.

Fuel pump on my 67 Mustang went over a year ago. I finally replaced it last week. After I charged the battery she started right up. I won't neglect her like that again. I also started the bodywork on my son's Camaro. There's a bunch of small dents on the roof after a couple branches fell from a pin oak that it was parked under.
Tighten it up til it strips, then back it off a quarter turn

Well jeep is fixed and ready for battle.
New water pump,  fan clutch, hi pressure steering hose and belt.  Flushed out the heater core as well.
Went back to the stock fan clutch.  Had a grand Cherokee unit in and think maybe it was too much.
Turns out the steering box is fine.  The hi pressure line is known for going bad.
Got a power wash , the engine bay is nice and clean.

During the last few years of my parts counterman years terms changed. "rebuilt" became something in a unit broke. Everything was cleaned and the faulty piece replaced. What we used to call rebuilt became "remanufactured". Basically major components cleaned & repaired with other components re place with new parts, bearings, seals, brushes, diodes ,........

Over the weekend I cleaned out the jeep (it was bad)
, pulled the front seats and vacuumed under there. Then put the cooler in and organized the back,  tools,  recovery gear and such.
It was a quart low and put atf in,  just before the oil change.  Fixed my broken toggle switch for the fog lights
Heard some squeaking from the rear driveshaft and sent it to the u-joint shop today.
Moab is coming up fast.  Need to get a haircut and pack clothes.  1st trip without the trailer but should be cheaper since we won't be burning up a ton of gas.

There is so much beautiful country around Moab! I wonder what this winter has done there, be prepared.

Partly due to what happened to our friend I am reassessing what gear is in our vehicles. I usually have us covered but over time some things get removed or lost. There was a guy list for 6 nights in the same cubby as Deon and he survived during part of the same timeframe. he had made better choices.

OMG what a great day.
Picked up the jeep from the driveline shop . The guy said he checked all the other u-joints , they were good but he found the front yoke on the transfer case was loose and tightened up the nut.
Driving back to work,  the vibration at 65 I've had for year's is gone.  I've been trying to chase it down ever since I lifted it . Thinking the guy that did the SYE forgot to tighten it.
Man it's like driving a new jeep. Even took it up to 85 and no vibes.  Called the shop and gave them a big thanks. 😁

That is good. With the places you go it is best to have everything working well. Snowing again here & bracing for the rain starting tomorrow. I had to winch my wife's Grand Cherokee out a few days ago.  >:(

Here's my car related.  :::  Took the dog Sugar camping in the trailer for her 1st time.  On the way home 40 miles to go the truck starts acting up. It cut out for a second and came back on.  Did this a few times then shutdown at 65.  Since the sensors had no power, it downshifted at 55. So I bumped it into neutral and coasted to the shoulder.
Found a code PO1389. Cleared that but only made it a few more miles.
Called AAA and hitched a ride home on the flatbed with my trailer in tow.

Started looking into that code,  could be 1 of 4 different sensors.  Kinda got fed up,  so I'll let it sit till I get good and ready to look at it.

Sugar doesn't look too happy in the back seat.

Looks like the P1389 is not uncommon..here is one link of many online.
