With the leaf setup does it ride high?  Mine came with only three leafs because I think they wanted it to sit low.

Don't forget that with leafs..you can mount the axle above the springs to lower the car.

Munch,
Mine has the axle above the leafs like Ed was saying.  The centerline of the rear bumper bracket hole on the back of the frame is 15" from the floor.  That is with 26 1/2" tall tires front and back.  It will sit lower as I don't have the interior in it or the rear deck lid on it.  The guys at Posie's told me they settle a little after a little driving around too.  Hope this helps.

Here's some pictures of the shock mounts I made.  I got the shock kit when I ordered the spring kit but I didn't use their mounts.  I like the way these came out better.

Here are the pics of the rear shackle mount we fabricated.  The first pic is from the outside of the frame.  The second is from the inside of the frame.

That looks great, I have a problem though that should have me find another hobby, I don't wield.  I have a core flux unit and have made do on some body work, but not what you are doing.

If you know someone or have a reputable shop near by you could follow the instructions and tack the mounts in then have them finish weld it.  Front and rear mounts would have to be welded to the frame and the spring pad to the rear end.  I don't know of any bolt in kits.  You might want to check Fat Man Fabrications.  They have some bolt in suspension kits.

I'll figure it out, I am use to getting creative.  Have you had a feedback from anyone on the ride the Posie rear leaf setup gives.

I haven't heard from anyone that has the Posie's springs in their car but it would probably compare to a 68 - 72 Nova or a Camaro of the same years.

When I built mine (1962) you couldnt buy one. I adapted a complete 58 chevy rear suspension which is a triangulated set up.Actually I used the whole frame,fitting it inside the 28 frame and then boxing the rest of it. I was 18 yrs old at the time and my only tools were a torch,grinder and a lincoln AC180 stick welder!

 Being a senior in high school and working a full time job as well, it was all I could come up with!There were not many choices back then if you wanted independent front and a linked rear. Most everyone had solid front axels and leaf springs in the rear. I had finished the body and decided that the frame had to be beefier so as to eliminate any stress cracking and the coils on all 4 corners would be easier on the body work. It was beefier all right,I could jack up one corner and the whole end would come up at once! Total overkill.

Thanks all, and I enjoyed the pics.  You guys do good work.

I know that I sound like jumping around, but the next item on my list is a 200R4 transmission.   As I said before, I want to cruise and at 60 I need another gear.  I think that I am going for the trans first and see what that is like.  The TH400 is nice and crisp, but like I said I need another gear.

I am looking at a 200R from Tuff Dawg Engines for $1,600 including delivery.

I will make my decision on the leafs next.
