My boss hates having a car/liability here longer than it needs to be. Usually the parts show up first before the car and if additional parts need to be ordered, it's 2nd day air.

I spent almost 3 days doing this top. Had a issue where the rear rail had a sewn in piping/welt that tucks in a groove then, the rubber gasket goes in to hold that but the piping was too big and we were fighting the gasket. Took the piping out of the old top (smaller diameter) and installed that. The rubber went in much smoother. Burned up half a day figuring that out.

That's ok, you made short work of it!
Tighten it up til it strips, then back it off a quarter turn

My brother-in-law has a Ford Explorer and it needs body bushings. No problem, right? Man! Talk about a PITA! Not a super tough job, but a little time consuming and the front bushing? Well, if it doesn't want to come out, it's not coming out! Took us over an hour just to get that one out. I will say, that once everything is out it all falls back together. Passenger side today, driver side tomorrow, that should go a lot easier now that we know what we are up against.

Had some linoleum leftover from our bathroom rebuild. Wasn't too bad. The glue is super sticky stuff. Took 4 hrs to dry on the first half. Used a box fan to speed up the process.

Have a piece I'll put by the man door entry tomorrow.

Nice floor! You could have a little baby barn dance on that. I am impressed with the quality of some of the new vinyl folding. The old Battleship linoleum was tough but some of the new stuff is pretty too.

Rattiac, top looks great!  The black is sooo much better than the old white one. I've never ran into the piping on top material too large before but also never installed a cloth top. Yeah, sometimes those are a real pain to get tucked in the groove tight enough to get the weather strip and filler cord in.  ;)
Your floor is looking great, i like that wood pattern.

Chopper, glad its you. 😁 Some of those body bushing really grow on there. I spent several hrs on some with PB blaster and a wide flat air chissel to get under it and get them going.

Got the Viking grille surround here yesterday. Man that opening is like an open mouth on a Great white shark. 😜

We contacted the manufacturer about the top and told him what we did to fix it, using 1/8" welt. The tech guy thinks someone may have grabbed the wrong welt during the process.

Went to Lowe's and picked up the carpet yesterday. That's about the only place I've been all week. Seems life like normal there but down the street at Wal-Mart , it looks like the apocalypse is going on. 😱
Had a few missionaries stop by to check how we are doing. Haven't seen them in years.
Meanwhile im building my doomsday trailer. 😁

Ed, there is always gonna be more excuses pop up.  ;D  But at least your ready!
Rattiac, seems even good suppliers get a glitch once in a while.  At least it was an easy fix once you pin pointed the problem.

At least my small town still isn't in panic mode, yet anyway. Got groceries last friday. Our store gets stocked every tuesday, pleanty of TP and anything else i needed. Heard Dodge City was starting to get carried away, fights breaking out at Wallyworld.

I got the left end of the Viking grille surround stripped and the rust patching done. Finish stripping paint and straighten out the rest of the dents this week.

We finished the other side of the body bushings on Sunday. Again, not the toughest job, but time consuming. The truck was a bit rusty underneath. Heat was our friend, using a torch was much more effective than penetrating oil, we just didn't use the torch around the gas tank ;D And yes, we did have many beers....after the job was complete.
Rattiac, the floor really looks good. No excuses now, FATnLOW.
