Nice job Rattiac!
Spending time with my grandkids gets in the way of finishing my car but I don't regret it!

Tfoch, nice pic. A month ago a lot of our trees leaves just turned brown from the drought. Lost a lot of leaves on not so hardy trees☹

Rattiac, seat looks great. Like the red pipping too.
Oh, your Youtube cold start on the '32 sounded great👍

I actually got to work a little job last week. Neighbors Chevelle driver door lock quit. Got the panel off and window back up to see, the lock pawl arm had fallen off. Found it on the bottom of the door, but no retainer to be found. He had som E- clips to try as i couldn't find the right retainer clip at my old shop. Got back to his place as he was trying to install the E-clip. I went to put my hand on his workbench.....there was the correct retainer clip laying right there🤯  He has no idea where it would have come from, he hadn't even seen one before. Some days....strange things happen.

Sometimes it is just "shop blindness" but when things actually appear or disappear there is more to it. EVERY time I find something I'm looking for, especially a small dropped piece, I give thanks! It doesn't hurt to cover the bases. I accept that I my not be in charge.  :)

I had to bash the hell out of the driver's side header on my son's Camaro and the shifter linkage still didn't work properly. Hmmm... I took a closer look at what I had ordered, down in the bottom corner I read "linkage must be disconnected for cars with locking ignition" Doh!!!! Well, I wasn't going to disconnect the linkage, if I did that it would effectively disconnect the neutral safety switch.
So, I did the smart thing and ordered a new set of headers. Expensive mistake, but that's how it goes.
Today I installed a new set of headers that I got from JEGS and I started installing an exhaust system I got from Summit. It's going smooth....fingers crossed.
Tighten it up til it strips, then back it off a quarter turn

I'm keeping at it! I got the new headers and the exhaust in, and it sounds great. The fit is awesome and no linkage interference. Might be time for some bodywork.

What I did do today?
Fall is here, the trusty Pontiac is going into storage in a couple days.
Washed the car and cleared some floor space real quick to make room
for it inside the shop. Hopefully we'll get a coat of wax and a bit of an
interior detail before it's storage time.

Yesterday and the day before, I put a 2" layer of foam insulation board
on the inside of the leaky doors, to try and offset the electric power prices, that
are expected to get threefold this winter compared to last year.

And yes, you're welcome to come visit  :D

Ahhh....if I'm ever in Finland I will most certainly look you up ;D ;D Pontiac looks nice.
Here's a question: I was cleaning things up a bit and came across this tool. What is it??
Tighten it up til it strips, then back it off a quarter turn

Thank you chopper526 I like the look of the '58 Pontiac, and as it's not very
common, people are asking "it looks like a BelAir, what is it?
And the coffee pot's on the stove, come by anyday :)

That tool of yours is a chain breaker. I think they come in different sizes for bigger
and smaller chains. I used something similar, when I changed the cam chain on my
Caprice wagon a year or so ago.
If it sounds weird to change the cam chain on a Chevy using a chain cutter, it might
be, because I mounted a Mercedes inline 6 diesel engine into it.

Fuel consumption down a third, power up at least as much= more better

Chopper that is a chain breaker, used to break roller chain, you are missing the push pin that pushes the pin out, the pin is a replaceable item and can be purchased from Granger, Mc master car or Amazon
