Yes, that is the dash, brake warning light switch.
Tighten it up til it strips, then back it off a quarter turn

Ahh that what it was.  Couldn't remember what it was for.
New switch should arrive today.  It's a Ron Francis unit.

Well I thought I might be able to re-engineer the bracket but it looks like the only way.
Anyways,  brake lights are going again and set the switch so it's not so sensitive as before.

Might have to start driving the 32 to work.  It's the only vehicle I have that gets decent gas mileage. 😆
 Pontiac ---- gets 20mpg.  :o
Cherokee ---- 10mpg towing or not .
Dakota ---- 10 towing, 14-16 city.

Sounds like a good idea. Cars seem to like being used, keeps them from complaining about being left alone😁

That reminds me, a buddy down south of Joplin Mo owns a mechanic shop. Last year he really got discusted working on the newer stuff. His two boys are real sharp on this newer stuff, so he turned them over to the boys. He went back to working only on the older stuff and projects.

He said in the last 2 months people in his area are dragging the old 60s thru 80s stuff out of the trees and barns for him to get running again. Seems they have had enough of these later model stuff. Just want daily drivers, so he 's been getting them running and to pass safety inspections. Says working on this older stuff is just what he needed. 🙂

When I was selling parts at the first sign of rising gas prices I'd be selling oil change & tune up kits for Toyota 22Rs. A guy I know would roll out his '55 Studebaker coupe.

Drove it to work today and while I was on break,  took it over to Rhino Liners to get a quote for the running boards.  Gonna pull the passenger front fender to get that fixed at the same time.
