Piece by piece. The park/brake/turn signals have been tested
and they work and almost everything is wired except for the
warning lights, gauges and swiches that go in the center of
The dash.

I made a couple small hangers to go under the dash for a miniature
volt gauge and a dual usb socket. It's mainly for powering the
speedo that's still in the works and might be installed next winter.
And also maybe for charging a phone.

The dash centerpiece is still pretty much a blank. I'll drill holes
and mount fuel and temp gauges and also for a couple more switches

I've often thought that owning one nice car would be perfect.
Working on it every now and then, keeping it in perfect shape
and improving on it But no, can't do it.
I always needs more cars.

If the ideal number of cars is F and you own X number of cars,
the way to calculate ithis ideal number is:
X+1=F

This is a true dilemma.

I do that too, rattiac, clean and fix my cars when I?m
going to sell them.
I should do that regularly, they?d be much nicer to own that way.

Yes Sammons, a crow's nest of wiring hanging under the
dash looks awful. I have to admit to being guilty of letting that
happen before. This time I had decided to make the wires the
right length instead of "long enough".

Some non visible work done again, mounts for the front park/turn
lights and wiring for everything except the dash is done.
I mounted the headlights yesterday, wired and all.

I was at a car show today in a neighbouring city, took a few hours
off from the shop.

It never ends and we never catch up. Doing a lot around the place but auto projects are still stalled. I pulled my '70 Blazer off the hill a few months ago to get it back on the road. (or off road) I got  a couple of  things done but mostly it sits.

Hope the new metal guy works for you!

Well, summer is gonna hit one of these days. I decided to call up the shop that fixed my fender. I lost the number and google mapped it. Took a drive there and they are gone.
Crap.... Thought about calling up Kindigit but someone talked me into another metal guy.
I'll dig out the car next week. Working on the getting the Cherokee up for sale. Had the rock-sliders powder coated a nice metallic green color.
Normally I'd spray paint em, but they were rusty and they'll get sand blasted.
I'll throw the trickle charger on it and possibly fire it up today.
It's raining so my detail job on the jeep is out.

I have a bad habit of getting my vehicle's in great shape when I sell em. Kinda paying respect to a reliable service life it's given me.
So far it's had a new exhaust, ball joints, tie rods and u joints.

Wiring can be a pain sometimes, especially if you started long ago and start into it again. Sure looking nice and neat. I hate when i see a great looking street rod until i see a dangled rats nest of "farmer to get by" sticking out under the dash.

It's a long time since I made most of the wiring, connected
the relays and fuse boxes and made it barely driveable. Now I
went through it all again to find out how I was thinking.
Last night I found the sketches I made on the computer at
the time and printed it out.

There's a lot of wiring going on.
I routed all the wiring going to the back of the car under the floor
instead of inside as I planned earlier. I think it's neater if I happen
to drive without a carpet some time.

I'm spending an unfathomable amount of time on the electricals.
For some reason I make the most work intense decisions.
Using the cowl lights as tail lights is one of those. To get the
functions of parking, brake and turn lights from one single
filament (21w bulb) the parking lights are simulated using 5
ohm resistors.
Front turn lights are also single filament and double as parking
lights.
Two flasher relays and four five prong relays, four resistors and
six diodes complete the system.
Hope it works.

Thank you all!
The inspiration returned when I got the bodywork done and
started painting all the parts. The body looks pretty nice too,
I'm pretty happy with how my bodywork turned out, even
in gloss black it's not horrible and that's a win.
I just did my 39th day in a row in the garage, so close to get
it ready for some dreal driving I just have to plow on.
Today I got the tail lights mounted. As I've probably mentioned
before, they are the original cowl lights with red bulbs.
