Battery location
« on: April 22, 2014, 09:17:43 PM »
The reason I'm asking the question is the person who started this project I have put the battery box back in original location, it seems that it will be in the way of the exhaust system. Since I'm on the floor pan is now the time to remove it which I have tonight. The question to you all is where have you located your battery? Inside the car, on the fire wall, under the front fender behind the tire?

I located mine in the center behind the front seats.  I have a rumble seat so putting it in the trunk wasn't an option.  Any where else under the floor would have been in the way of my exhaust.  I used a compact battery though so this may not work for you.  Here's a couple of pics.  I still have to make a cover for it.
Spending time with my grandkids gets in the way of finishing my car but I don't regret it!

Mines behind the drivers seat. Of coarse I cheated and used the vette floorpan, so It's in the stock corvette location (cubby hole)

I mounted  a battery box on my  '40 ford Pick up on passenger side, under front fender mounted box on the frame...saves
running a  lot of cable...and  mounted remote battery posts on the inner fenders..in case I needed a jump.....Plan on doing this on my  '33

Mounted mine near the rear tail pan between the frame rails, it has to be installed from the bottom.  Secured nicely using a GM truck fender battery tray.

On my 32 I'm using the stock mount and location.the exhaust is not the same on both sides under the car. But with it being lower and full rendered  I think you won't be able to see it.
Never underestimate the power of a lubricant.

I've put them in the trunk, under the floor, and on the 28 sedan delivery just behind the seat. I plan on installing mine for the buick roadster in the trunk with the fuel tank.  should make a great explosion.HEHE

Mine were located one on each side in the trunk,2-6volts.Not really a good place but with the X frame and haveing the exhaust tucked up behind the side aprons, there was no other place.
