It's taken me 2 1/2 years to get this far. I am waiting on exhaust pieces and hope to have it on the street by the spring.

Been making the tune port wiring harness for mine..one connection at a time.  The car gets heavier each day...and harder to push around...so I need to get it running.

Looks good! I like those headers,they really set it off. Spring is just around the corner, I'll bet you can't wait....that first ride always gets the adrenalin pumping. Do you have a color in mind of will it stay in primer ?

Thanks, guys. I know what you mean, Ed. I used to be able to push mine all over the place, not anymore. But, it does run now, so I can drive it in and out of the garage.
It would just be a little too loud to take on the street with open headers. I ordered exhaust that should be in any day. Once I get that done I'll  try it on the street.
I have four sons, some want a ride in it and some want to DRIVE it!
I think I am going to leave it in primer for the first year or so to let all the bodywork settle. I would hate to paint it and have one of my welds crack...I ain't no pro
I was thinking of painting it copper or yellow, maybe that's too corny, what do you guys think??

I'm going to leave mine in primer for the first year too.  I agree things may settle or need to be strengthened.  I think either color would fit the car well but copper would be real cool.  You wouldn't see too many copper 32 Chevys at the cruise nights.
My daughter can't wait to drive mine!  My son has no interest but his daughter loves coming out in the garage to see what I'm doing.  Can't wait to give her a ride!

A guy that lives a couple of towns over from me in Bristol has a 32 5 window painted a copper color. Looks good but I must admit a yellow hot rod really gets my attention.

One for yellow, one for copper. I like that copper one Moose, but I know what you mean about yellow. However, TFoch, you're right, won't see too many copper coupes. Hmmmmmmm......

I think the copper 32 would look better if the grill was chrome along with the rear bumper.  It would break it up a bit.  Looks like it's an old stovebolt 6 in there, pretty cool!

I agree about the chrome grill and rear bumper, it would make it stand out more.

Hey Chopper how's the exhaust coming along on the 32?  Any progress to report?

Hey, T. I got the exhaust fitted in, cut, welded and painted, including a crossover, as far back as the tailpipes. The tailpipes are are going to be slip-joint with band clamps securing them. That way, if I have to take it down for some reason, I won't have to cut a bunch of welds, I can just remove the tailpipes from over the rear and drop the mufflers and exhaust pipes as one unit. Anyway, I am waiting for the band clamps to arrive in the mail so I can button up this job.
I will say, that with almost the whole exhaust system in place it really sounds good. Not too loud at all. I also insured and registered it and I just ordered a wiring harness too, so I hope to have my car "streetable" in another week or so......Aren't you glad you asked???
