Father / Son Fishing Trip
« on: May 29, 2013, 12:40:06 PM »
Well it's time for my son and I to go on our annual fishing trip.  Each year the Thursday - Saturday after Memorial Day we head up to Augusta Maine to do some bass fishing on Lake Cobbosseecontee (that's a mouth full)!  We're joined by a few of the guys I work with along with their sons and nephews.  Looking forward to some good fishing and great food!  I'll fill you in on the fish stories later this weekend.

We had a great three days.  Weather was sunny and in the low 90’s.  We caught lots of large and small mouth bass.  My son Marcel had the biggest of the trip a 3 lbs 4 oz large mouth.  My biggest was a 3 lb 3 oz large mouth.  I had a small mouth that was 2 ½ pounds.  Fish weren't a big as past years but we caught about 40 fish a piece over two days.  We saw plenty of wildlife including a bald eagle, loons and some osprey.  As promised here are some pics.

Few more pics.  One from my dock first thing in the morning.  Another of a pair of loons in a cove we were fishing.

Wow Tom you guys don't fool around. That's more fish than I've caught in a lifetime and you've got great looking scenery to boot. Looks like a great time was had by all. Thanks for the pictures!

Fish weren't as big as last year?   Heck they are some healthy looking fish!

All the fish we caught were real healthy.  The past few years someone always hooks into a 4 1/2 or 5 pounder so it surprised us that 3 lbs 4 oz was the biggest fish.  That was a nice fish though and I was proud that he was able to drag it out of the weeds in 2 feet of water.  I really enjoy spending the time fishing with my son.

You have me motivated to do some fishing again....heck I can see Lake Champlain from my place! Been seeing a lot of deer and turkeys out back lately.

Sounds like a great time, Tom, but more than the fishing, spending it with your son.
Ed, if you go fishing watch out, you may snag "Champ".
