I worked with GM for many years and it was obvious that they were and are focused on expanding there operations into world markets. They feel that the US market has a certain fixed potential and the expense of doing business in the US has made it difficult to remain competitive in a global market. They have had great focus on Mexico and Australia where they acquired the Holden plant where before Pontiac was dumped the GTO and G8 were built . They also have large investments in the Middle East mainly in Dubai with China becoming their main focus. The US government bailed them out their financial fiasco which was brought on more by poor management than the poor economy without making any demands on how they would grow the US market so it would appear that we the US tax payer is now aiding in the growth of jobs in every country but our own.
