Buicks everywhere
« on: September 21, 2016, 08:38:20 PM »
I got invited to a all Buick show, It's put on by the buick club of America. The for the most part was pretty cool, held at a auto nation buick dealership, and there were some very fine cars there, but only 5 in my age group the oldest being a original 1918 touring. Most club show have some sort of club mentality and this one wasn't to bad. I would rather be hanging out with all you guys, and a assortment of cars to look at, but anyway here are a few pictures of some cool cars.

Some beautiful cars there!  How did they like your car?
Spending time with my grandkids gets in the way of finishing my car but I don't regret it!

Some nice old Buicks there Ghost.  A buddy of mines family were a long time Buick family. His grandma had a 1950 Buick Special 2dr HT in her garage with 20,000 miles on it. Dark green w/black top and WWW's. Absolutley mint inside and out. She didn't drive, and when his grandpa died it just sat in the garage. They would start it up every month, warm up and pull out then back in the garage. After she died in the late 80's I think it went to a family member in Chicago.

Looks like a great show, Ghost, thanks for the pic's!
I bought a 1955 Special off a buddy of mine a bunch of years back for $250.00. It needed accelerator linkage. I drove it home using a wire attached to the carb that I pulled by hand ;D. I sold it a couple years later for $400. This was before the internet and it was very hard to shop for and find parts. I do wish I had kept it, it would have been a great cruiser.
Tighten it up til it strips, then back it off a quarter turn

My Buick was recieved well,  but most of the club had original cars that were pure survivors or restored to perfection. The guy next to me had a 39 Buick, but he didn't open his hood because of a small block chevy in it. the car was really nice.

Some nice cars there, but I'm really liking the older ones.
Those early Buick grill shells have much style.
