New guy from Ct.
« on: January 30, 2013, 02:13:58 PM »
Hello everybody,
It's good to have a website dedicated to old Chevy's.
I come from a circle track racing background, and it's time to build a hotrod that I won't have to take apart every week. The car I am currently building is a '34 chevy standard 3-window coupe. It will be done as a 60's drag car (full hood, no fenders), and I plan on doing alot of nostalgia drag events. My car is in the mockup stages right now, with a 396 with lots of engine setback, and a 700r to make it streetable and still be able to have a racing gear in the 9" Currie rear. No chop and a 5" channel.
Thanks for listening, and I hope to meet some of you as I try to attend most of the traditional hot rod shows
in New England. Will post pictures if I ever figure out how to.

Welcome, Wayne, from Philly. Sounds like it's going to be pretty cool.
Tighten it up til it strips, then back it off a quarter turn

Hello Wayne

Good to see another Nutmegger here. A friend of mine spends most of his life at Stafford Springs and Lebanon Valley but all that round-d-round makes me dizzy 8) I'm looking forward to seeing those pictures.

Don,
I was there last year. Best show of the year! Nice to see these cars in action.
My car won't be ready for this year, maybe next. I want to enjoy this build and get it right.
Like I am always telling my son, the difference between a job and a hobby is having a deadline.

I was with my friend he had the red front engine dragster. We have to work on keeping the front wheels down. Have to take it to Epping N.H.. On a week day to play with it. To get ready for next sept.

Wayne, Welcome from New Hampshire!  Let me know if you ever come up to New England Dragway.  I'm about 30 minutes away.  Enjoy the forum and i look forward to seeing pictures of your 34 coupe.
Tom
Spending time with my grandkids gets in the way of finishing my car but I don't regret it!
