Has anyone ever had a early mustang, mid to late 60's that the door lock wouldn't release enough to allow the door to be opened?

Ghost, mine was that way on the right door when I bought it. Couldn't get it to unlock, you here it try. I had to take the door panel off to get at the mechanism and spray the thing from the inside with PB Blaster. Worked the rod back and forth and it finally unlock. Once open I removed the latch mech and cleaned it, old grease had got hard and full of gunk. Worked like new once cleaned and greased with white lithium.

The other problem with them is if a spring is dirty or broke, door out of align, they have a tendency for the upper latch arm to fold to lock, but the lower is open yet. The striker gets stuck between the two. The only way to get this open is to have a helper depress the door button while you try shouldering or kicking on the inside (protect inner panel with a thick blanket with a 2x4 inside to keep from denting)
