L&L:Legends and Lies
« on: April 26, 2015, 08:44:43 PM »
Gunfighters, Outlaws and Scouts of the old west. Anybody else catching this series on Fox News Channel?   Pretty darn interesting, just found out about it last night. Don't know how many I have missed already.  :-\

Been trying to watch them...only caught the entire Jessie James showing...pretty darn good.  The hockey play offs kept me away tonight.

I watched the one about Doc Holiday last night, awesome.  He had a great career ahead as a Dentist but consumption took care of that, so he made it as a gambler and bad guy.

Looks like it's a 10 week series that started April 12th. ::) Airing on Sat nnights and repeats on Sunday nights. I caught the last 5mins of Doc Holiday Sat, but watched the Kit Carson then the Bill Hickoc last night.

It's always amazed me how much western frontier history crisscrossed through my area.  My small town was founded with the coming of the old Rock Island rail road in 1887.

As much as I like O'Rielly he is a Yankee. Jessie James and Doc Holiday were defamed more for being Southerners than for being outlaws. Kit Carson and Wild Bill got a much better deal because their "human rights" records fit into modern PC ideals better. Carson was excused for his treatment of the Navajo because he had a Ute wife or two and he did things that worked out for the US. Jessie's misdeeds served himself. The series is interesting and I am looking forward to the rest.

I know I get carried away with that "War of Northern Aggression" stuff. ;D
I'm Really looking forward to the David Crockett episode. Probably like some of you I was part of that 50s thing. I still have my coon skin cap.

I hope we get to see it down here.
Just watched Wyatt Erps revenge last night.
Doc Holiday was pulling a tooth, and was really enjoying his work.
