found this recently,had to buy it.ive had a rough 32 coupe body sitting in yard for years,it sold quick to buy 31 thats mostly complete.it needs new wood as one would expect.id like to salvage it but every piece has some small issue on the ends.new kits are over priced,hell they cost more than a complete car.
       short term plan is to sand it and get some primer and sealer on body.itll prob sit for years before i figure what to do about the wood.if it was a damm ford id be driving it.
    any metal kits out there?ive read a ton on the wood,i like it but $ makes it hardly worth it.

Nice pics, looks like all the steel is in great shape.  Don't get discouraged about the wood.  I had to replace all the wood in my 33 Cabriolet.  It takes a little time but the end result is worth it.  Do you want to restore it to original or hot rod it?

Looks like a nice solid body. As Tom the wood can be replace with steel and there are any number of build threads out there that should get you pointed in the right direction. Most of my wood was good and the pieces that were not were good enough for patterns so I fabricated my own replacements and didn't go the steel route but I have a few friends who did with great results. Again as Tom said, just take you time.

its too close to original to hot rod.sheet metel is nearly perfect with just a few pin holes down low. to me if a car is nice shape and made this long as original,keep it that way.if its all cut up and rough,sure make a hot rod as i did with my 37 gmc.

redsshed77  the couple looks like all the steel is in great shape, the wood in my 32 was all gone so I went with steel for replacement it really isn't that hard you just have to take your time and think it thru, good luck with what ever you decide

As the guys mentioned...framing the car in steel is really not a big deal. You can use square or round tubing with automotive grade foam to anchor the framework to the body etc. The guys here will help...

BTW: Both Chevy and Ford used wood to frame their cars in that era.

Redaahed, I agree about cutting up a nice one. They are only stock once. A solid survivor is a very interesting car to me and it is something special to help one out that has come so far. Full restorations and complete remakes are not my first choice in either viewing or building.

my fingers are raw and my nails are now short,but finally got outside metal clean enough to etch prime.some  late nights.now to dig into the door jams....
