Skin sure looks bigger up there Sixball.
Took 'ol Rowdy out to poop this morn, seen a Flint emblem sticking out of the ground. Looked it up... 1920's Flint Automobile. You knever know what popps up out of the ground here.
Dang, they want good money for those emblems in good shape, $152🤯 Found a pic of my town in the 1920s, about 2 blocks from my house. Probably one of these cars, if they didn't move or sell their old cars out of town they ended up at our dump. When they closed it in the early 80s, they only picked up surface cars and junk. Everything else was just covered over. The back east side was deep in old teens thru 30's cars and trucks, buggies etc.

That thing looks great! Too bad most people who see it won't how much work it took to make it look like it came that way.

Those are bigger snakes than ours. Anything over 3 1/2' is a big one here. I've only had a few over 4' here. Got the first one of the year last week. We were headed for town in the evening and it was crossing the road about 20 yards from the house. When I got out of the car he took off. I fired 5 shots and only hit him once. No shot loads. It stoped him but didn't kill him. Not wanting to waste any more good self defense loads, I had to stomp this particular critter in to a wall hanging. I'll be 81 in a couple of weeks and my stompers are not as agile as they used to be. It took a while. All the time I was thinking of what I always told my boys. Most people that get bit by rattlers are screwing with them. His hide is on the wall in the new greenhouse. He looks bigger than he was just a little over 3'. They stretch quite a bit. That door is only 28".

Yes, vinyl paint is surprisingly durable. A Pontac LeMans I had Some 35 years ago had a tan interior sprayed white by an earlier owner. It took me maybe a year before I realized that everything was painted.
First time out for a real drive today, legally, even. You can get a kind of internittent registration for a few days, which I applied for and got for four days. I got close to disaster, an idiot (I won't mention the gender) Stopped at a STOP sign, then, exactly when I came, this person obviously forgot why the car had stopped moving and hastily drove out right in front of me. Luckily I was driving below the speed limit at maybe 30 mph, but I still locked up all wheels and missed the other car with just a few inches to spare. Damn great brakes, I have to say. Got them tested good.
Other that this incident, the Buick drives pretty nicely, goes down the road like it should, and is scaryfast (keep in mind that I think my 190 hp TransAm is a fast car). Temperature is fairly constant at about 190, fan cycles on and off at standstill idle. Wind noise is a thing, the winshield shrieks oddly at road speed, half a mile or rubber seals not done yet.
So much fun in a day!

Brother mowed last week, went back along his trail weedeating the edge, came across 1st rattler. With in a half hour got another. This morn he was throwing the tennis balls for the dogs at the pond, they weren't paying close attention and missed the ball. He leaned over to pick it up and wham, rattler lurched out of the cotton tails and almost got him. He jumped back and he swore it hit one of his dogs. None of the yelped though. He pulled his 45 and shot with bird shot, it started chassing him. Shot 2nd bird shot and really pissed it off. His 3rd round just regular 45 round and almost took his head off clean. 10 button, 49" long with out head.
Said all dogs were licking them selfs, but were all wet. None has shown any symptoms for the past 3hrs. He said it must have been a dry bite or he just hit and missed with fangs.
He told the neighbor, as he is suppose to come nect week to backhoe out all the cotton tails off the pond bank. Neighbor said he just killed #11 at his place🤯 No thanks, way to many for me!
He lets them be if they are at the far reaches of the ranch, but house, shop, pond, and main trail are close to the house. With dogs and grandkids he's not taking chances.

May be a little small, but will darn sure get you by for now and not look bad. That vinyl dye/paint has sure got me out of a few binds. Always seem to hold up pretty good also.

Thanks!
I was going to build a back seat, planning to use the Mustang back seat cover that I bought a long time ago. I went to look for some filling material and found a little seat that I got with the boat several yeas ago and had forgotten about. It was white, and too small, but I thought it could be covered with some black fabric for this season. Then a friend who came to visit suggested I paint it with vinyl paint. Great idea, now it looks almost as it belongs. Still too small, but it will do its job and save me some time for this summer. I need to have a back seat to get it registered for four people.
Some small items ticked off the ToDo list every day. Last night I realized that I have to remove the aprons again, to get the seat belts mounted. Two steps forward, one back.
I think I'll still have to make something to cover the fuel tank plumbing, it looks a bit too agricultural as it is.
