Leroy & I went out this mornin to Hazen NV and saw it. At first we were at a crossing near town where a few people were gathering. All was well until 3 UP special agents showed up and started moving people around. We were fine in a good & safe spot off of UP property. As the time grew nearer the Agents moved their truck to a spot that blocked our view and two other UP trucks parked directly in front of us. After a brief discussion with a very aggressive  Agent we left to find another spot. This guy was a DICK and had been aggressive and rude to others. We were not hobos! About 7 miles down the line out in the desert we came to a nice place with no UP Police around. There were two other cars there with 4 other people. After Big Boy passed and we were leaving one of the others asked us how we had found this place. He was obviously from somewhere other than Nevada. He said he had scouted the spot a few days earlier and thought he would be the only one there. I told him there was only one set of tracks between Sparks & Lovelock and that once the UP Police had spoiled our view we just followed the tracks to the next best place. It is not like a 1.2 million pound engine pulling a dozen or so cars can leave the track and hide in the sage brush.

I wanted to drive the jeep out there since I have AC and a awning but had this alternator whine for the past few months.  Knowing it's day's are numbered.
Well today the CE light came on and watched the gauge go down.
Looking like the truck is plan B.  Fix the jeep once I get back.
32 is plan C.

Toy man television said BB hit a tree coming out of Donners pass and broke a drain valve off one of the cylinders.  Set it back about 5hrs.  So they skipped a few stops to get back on schedule.

Sixball, i'm glad you got to see it. Yeah, some of those RR cops and detectives are real dicks. When my uncle was City Marshall, they had a derail here.  One of the guys was a real sob. Later when he got a detective job at the county Sheriffs office, he had to deal with those guys up in Dodge City. He said there is always one RR cop/detective that just won't listen to anybodys opinion but their own.

Rattiac, good luck getting there to see BB.

I'm having trouble getting my pictures off of my flip phone and camera. I'll see if I can get some help. I messed up Tuesday's video.

Yesterday I made my way out to the desert near a bombing range to get to the railroad tracks going across the great salt lake.  Getting there is sketchy since it could be closed off at any time.  Could mean a long dirt road north and bring plenty of gas.
I hit the RR Trax about 9am. Then waited till 3:45 for BB.
All of the RR employees were nice as long as I didn't block the road/causeway.  I did get warned this was off limits but he pretended he didn't see me 😉.  I did get updates from them occasionally as they passed by.
I got some good footage standing on the roofrack on the jeep and only 5 other chasers were out there farther away with drones..
Once it started to heat up the water on the left side of the causeway turned pink.  Pretty cool.
A freight train passed by that morning I could practice my footage.  Man that thing was moving.  Probably about 80mph,  came upon me fast.  I forgot to mention the mass Spiders along both sides of the causeway,  tons of webs for catching flys.

Glad you got to see it! I'm still fussing with pictures. Just to see a steam engine under power is good. To see one far out there is great. I wonder how many years we'd have to wait to get a seat on one of BB's runs?
