Man. Been reading the comments on taking care of your hands.  I've tried to be careful but yesterday I did something stupid.
Over the weekend I was on vacation and noticed the truck leaking coolant the night before leaving.  Made sure I had enough coolant and had to roll with it.  20 miles in I stopped at a local rual mechanic. He sold me 2 gallons of coolant cheap and gave me some tips.  Made it into Evanston Wyoming,  cooled down and topped off.  Just before reaching Parleys canyon I-80 I stopped again,  cooled down and went to remove the cap (cool to the touch)
But boiled up as soon as I removed it.  The cap is a pain to get back on and ended up burning my hands with coolant.  🤬
Stuck my hands in a bucket of water before having to drive home.
Went to the instacare to have them checked out.  They gave me some cream to treat it.  Not quite 2nd degree burns but close.  Have a few blisters each hand but just being in the sun hurts. Oh yeah they also gave me a tentnis shot .
Have today off and hopefully back to work tomorrow.
Being my wife's birthday I was trying to hurry and not ruin it but kinda did.

With what we do things can go bad very fast. We are very often just one hurried move away from a really bad day. Hope you heal soon!

Dang Rattiac, glad you'll be ok. Easy thing to do. Filling station days, summer always brought overheating cars in off the hiway. Always had my rag in my hand for that reason. Seems there is always that surge after the cap is loose, you learn to wait a few mins. Last time i was scalded was breaking in my buddy Lonnie's 327 cam in my garage on the test stand. Ran 20 mins at 2,400 rpm, backed the throttle off, leaned over to give it a couple quick yanks of wide open. I failed to tighten up the upper radiator hose clamp. Hose blew off and got me smack dab in the chest. Had a few blisters, but mostly just red face chest and arms. Got to the cold water fast, think that helped.

Well finally went to the eye doc, haven't been since high school. I had a stigmatisim in my left eye that got me glasses in the first grade. Eventually my muscles over came it and all was good. Last ten years as i loose muscle, its been real hard to keep eyes  focused together on a point.

Vision had fallen to 20/40 in both eyes, and i was real tired of keeping track of my reading glasses also. Picked up glasses this morn, so its get use to them time. I could see down the hiway clear without eye stain, what a difference. Other that a few sea sick moments, call me 4 eyes😁
