If a garage could talk.
« on: February 11, 2025, 10:53:10 PM »
If these garage walls could talk. The amount of cars and various projects that have been built here is staggering. I learned to weld here and everything I know about cars started here.
I sit here and think back and smile. 😊
At one time it looked like Sanford and Son's he said.

Those memories are precious, meaningful, and important to who you are. They are the part of you that is your dad. He would be grateful that you have them and value them.

I certainly understand that Rattiac.  I watched and later worked on hundreds of cars at the shop with dad. I use to stop in everyday after school to see what he was working on and give a hand if he'd let me🙂 I don't know how many thousands of cars went thru there over the last 50 yrs, some interesting vehicles for sure.

I told Tom and my brother, when i die, sprinkle a few ashes on my boys,(dogs) graves, then go to the shop on a breezy day, open the doors and dump the rest and let the wind blow me all thru there. You'll never get rid of me!🤣

These are pics of what is left of a shop my dad ran in Umbarger, Texas when I was a kid. I "helped" him prep & paint the '41 Ford pickup my grandfather bought new. That old truck has a long history with us. When I wad sanding the back of the cab and asked about the many small dents. He told me a story of when his 3 younger brothers were discovered appropriating watermelons from another farm. At Dad's funeral my uncle told a different story.

Lots of memories in these old garages.  Spent lots of time with my Dad in mine!
Spending time with my grandkids gets in the way of finishing my car but I don't regret it!
