Thank you
TFoch
and
sammons
, it's fun
when one gets to tick off things on the old to do list.
I've been working on my project every day and got the
wiring done. All the fuses are installed and everything
works, except for the dome light, turns out I forgot one
wire between two switches. Not a big issue, I'll have to
remove the center dash part at least once more anyway
Windows are installed now too. I hit my hand twice
today, trying to reach into the car, so I had to put some
tape on the glass to notice it.
Also the rear window is in, the caulking was a success, if
I may say so myself. Fine line tape and painters tape
did the trick.
Sorry, the last pic is sideways

Fenders and aprons were mounted today with help of a rod builder friend. First time for both of us trying to asemble a car from freshly painted parts. We used a lot of painter's tape, cloths and towels. Surprisingly, we didn't make a single scratch.
Your's truly sitting on the floor grinning like a fool, happy for every screw that fits

Thanks!
I was going to build a back seat, planning to use the Mustang back seat
cover that I bought a long time ago. I went to look for some filling material and
found a little seat that I got with the boat several yeas ago and had forgotten
about. It was white, and too small, but I thought it could be covered with some
black fabric for this season.
Then a friend who came to visit suggested I paint it with vinyl paint. Great idea,
now it looks almost as it belongs. Still too small, but it will do its job and save
me some time for this summer.
I need to have a back seat to get it registered for four people.
Some small items ticked off the ToDo list every day.
Last night I realized that I have to remove the aprons again, to get the seat belts
mounted. Two steps forward, one back.
I think I'll still have to make something to cover the fuel tank plumbing, it looks a
bit too agricultural as it is.

May be a little small, but will darn sure get you by for now and not look bad. That vinyl dye/paint has sure got me out of a few binds. Always seem to hold up pretty good also.

Yes, vinyl paint is surprisingly durable. A Pontac LeMans I had
Some 35 years ago had a tan interior sprayed white by an earlier
owner. It took me maybe a year before I realized that everything
was painted.
First time out for a real drive today, legally, even. You can get a
kind of internittent registration for a few days, which I applied for
and got for four days.
I got close to disaster, an idiot (I won?t mention the gender)
Stopped at a STOP sign, then, exactly when I came, this person
Obviously forgot why the car had stopped moving and hastily
drove out right in front of me. Luckily I was driving below the
speed limit at maybe 30 mph, but I still locked up all wheels and
missed tve other car with a few inches to spare.
Damn great brakes, I have to say. Got them tested good.
Other that this incident, the Buick drives pretty nicely, goes down
the road like it should, and is scaryfast (keep in mind that I think
my 190 hp TransAm is a fast car).
Temperature is fairly constant at about 190, fan cycles on and off
at standstill idle.
Wind noise is a thing, the winshield shrieks oddly at road speed,
half a mile or rubber seals not done yet.
So much fun in a day!
