Thank you

I had a bit of a lazy couple weeks here, turning 60 about then days ago, having a small
coffee and cake party for a few friends, then generally being lazy for a while.
I got myself dragged to the garage in the last couple weekends, and got a litte
something done.
A friend came with the brilliant idea to hang the front fenders off the front spring towers.
I cut out this oddity from a 3/8" thick plate. Two of the bolts are through holes, the
third, outermost bolt is welded to the tower.

I made a slim fender mount and put it right over the top of he wheel, since it's least in
the way there, where the wheel sits when it's pointed straight ahead. It's fully welded
at this time, and the whole fender feels fairly sturdy.

The fender was fastened to the new fender brace with a sheet metal screw to keep it
lengthwise in situ, while it was jigged up and the rear end of the fender was cut off
and a new fender to runningboard mount was made from angle iron, bolted the the
runningboard, and tacked to the fender.

I made the part that effectively widens the fender and mounts against the apron today,
it has a flange against the apron and it will be mounted with 1/4" UNC bolts and nuts.
The result is that the fender is moved out from the apron about 1-1/2" compared to stock.
