Essex, you've been busy.

Blacks my go to color on most cars, hard to go wrong with that.

Here is the manually adjusted pic.
The wheels are real, as is the engine.
I put the AI pic on top of the real pic and
moved aprons, windows and stuff around to
get the proportions right.
I think it will look mean in black.

Thank you sammons, I do like to make car parts from things that aren't meant
for it. It's good fun, especially when it works and has a different look to it.
You also, TFoch. The AI rendering looks very nice. I did use it to make
a better one in Photoshop, with the right proportions, I'll post that pic from
my phone if I remember to do it. It looks almost the same, you might not see
the difference.

The garnish moldings were primered, ready for a scuff and final paint.
I removed all the removable sheet metal form the car and sanded the parts
with 180 grit.

I covered the body and engine with the same film that I hung up to part off
the painty side of the garage.
After washing everything with wax and silicone remover I sprayed a couple
coats of epoxy on the fenders, aprons, running board moldings and head light buckets.

Today I started block sanding, one of the aprons hardly needs any filler at all.
Sanding is not exactly fun, but it's progress. Tomorrow when the garage should
be suffuciently warm I'll start applying filler.

Essex looking good man.  There are so many "unattractive" parts on a car that are just a nessesary evil. But... you keep them neat and in an orderly manner, everbody has to have them😁  And yes like your brake adjuster rod... use what you have works for me👍 Thats why i had such a big hoard of left over and used parts. It cost a lot more to build these things if you were to go out and buy all new stuff.

Anyway... keep up the good work!

A friend was playing with some ai site online and sent me a pic of my project
he prompted with black paint an flames.
It came out pretty nice. The proportions are slightly off the engine lost a cylinder
Or two and the super charger is mounted? sideways? Fun anyway.

Thank you TFoch. It feels like having the primaries custom
mandrel bent in stainless was a pretty good decision, they do make
the look I was after.

I took the rear fenders off the car for the Nth time, cleaned the inside
one more time with a wirebrush on the side grinder, then brushed on
rust converter.

I modified a press tool I made a couple years ago and made a shallow
indentation in the right hand side of the dash for the brass Fisher emblem.

Then I dug out all the garnish moldings and sandblasted and ground them
with 320 grit on the D/A.

I made a new todo-list the other day. It?s?. Overwhelming. I will have to
color code the tick boxes to Pre-paint, Driveable and Optional.

Totally different work today as I started working on the E-brake.
I got the hand brake from a wrecking yard, cables are standard ones for a Chevy S10.
I cut a hole in the floor and drilled four more for the fasteners.

I got the cables routed pretty nicely, the length of them was pretty much spot on too.
I'm certain that I won't be able to ever destroy the adjuster, it's M12 (just shy of 1/2")  thread bar,
The reason for using such over sized materials is I happened to have some M12 round bar
and a corresponding long nut.

It works, even if it's bulky
