General Discussion - Intros / Re: Brothers

^^^^^^^Thanks! I caught a lot of flak for giving it to him.  But it stays where it belongs and i haven't driven it in 10 yrs. Somethings aren't about the money.  I did drive it out of the shop over to the transporter. All i could do to turn it.

We don't get to see the Northern lights down here in southern Kansas, rare. But it was a good one .

Dang, the transporter had a great trip. Got to L.A. early and made 2 deliveries there, then called my brother to see if they could deliver early, 2 days early. So a short 54hrs after it left here my brother has it safe at home😁  We'll both sleep easy now!

I've been through these things several times and there is something important to remember. People hang on to things because they mean something to them. Some hang on to more than others. They don't hang on to it to burden others and they don't expect others to fell the same way. Some of the stuff does't mean any more than, " I may need that someday." Well sadly that day has passed. If there is something there that has meaning for you keep. I have a ton of crap here in that category that I am trying to use up. I'm also trying to re-home other stuff and making frequent dump runs to lessen the load on my sons. I'm 80. Your dad did not want to stress you out or make you feel guilty about his stuff. So do what feels good for you. His things are not him. What is left of him is in you. That is enough.  :) That doesn't mean the necessary business isn't a lot of  unpleasant work.

Early Chevy/GM Discussion / Re: 1932 Pontiac Six build

Volvo V70 wagon roofs circa '01-'07. fit perfectly on my Buick Marquette sedan.
Might not be s plentiful there though.
But then I seem to have no way to get hold of a Vortec 4100 engine, the sixes
in the more modern GM trucks or SUVs, and I would guess you could drown in
a sea of  them over there.
I don't think I ever even saw a Tahoe. Sounds funny when I say it.

Sorry so many have to go thru that.  And how many times they tell you... "you need to do this or that". Well if its that damned important to you, you do it or look into it😡   Then years later.... where is the money🙄  ( my two half sisters mothers)

Hang in there!

Wanted to put some notes here so I don't forget.
Need to check straightness of the frame.
Body still leaning toward driver's side.
Rear axle,  swap to Ford ranger studs.
Swap rear tires.
Change diff oil.
Start wood removal.

Oh yeah.  I bought a craftsman battery powered cut off tool so I can get a top for this thing.  Can't wait to use that.  I've seen a chevy Tahoe or GMC Yukon will be long enough.

I'm glad you are getting it sorted out, it's a lot of work that other family members don't understand.

Yeah.  I had a day's help getting the bills sorted out by my aunt but that was about it.  I was told my dad asked his brother to help me with things but that never happened.  Other than him telling his son inlaw to butt out of my family's business.
The most help was from the neighbor.  He told me things financially that nobody else knew.  He had the same retirement/IRA,  helped with the sprinkler system and moving things.  Was a huge help.

Still things aren't the same.  Father's day wasn't celebrated by the family and everyone is a bit more distant.  Sad,  same thing on my mom's side.  Once the grandmother died,  I never saw them again.
My dad's mother just turned 90.  So im hoping they'll get together for Thanksgiving but the day after will mark one year.
