While working in the auto business I met a guy by the name of Jeff Lynch. He was a field engineer and instructor for GM and had a passion for fast cars. I hadn't heard from him in years until I received an email from a good friend of his who happened to visit our site and asked if I would like to watch a YouTube video of Jeff's 53 Chevy pickup making a run down the track at the New England Dragway.
Looks like he's running a little juice and it really gets down the track....Take a look here...https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EAHtlYKnYpA&feature=youtube_gdata_player (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EAHtlYKnYpA&feature=youtube_gdata_player)
I'll send him an invite.Maybe we can get him to join the site.

Good running truck. New England Dragway, I've made hundreds of passes down that track! 30 minutes from my house.

Tom i think you met jeff in manchester. He was parked next to my 32 a few years back. Manchester is a can not miss show for jeff.
That 53 has a small block.

What's not to like? I love grey primered vehicles especially when they are fast. Thanks for sharing.

Registered, Moose! Hope I can be of some tech help for others. My shop is very busy so I do most of my talking after hours when I have time to relax. Thanks for inviting me!

I built this 350 in 1995, been a really good engine. Building a 362 for next year with more compression and long rods. I always run solid lifter but usually flat tappet, the new engine will be a solid roller, but still a daily driver. I have to keep it at 11.5 at the track or slower or I'll get thrown out because I have no roll bar and don't want to put one in.
The tuck he C4 suspension all around, a 4 L80E with an Optishift controller. I am going back to a 4L60E for the spring because I lost .2 from my 60' times with the 2.48 first gear. I build a lot of custom transmissions, most overdrive and most electronic. Like most of you I have grown very fond of the truck and drive it very where as long as it isn't et out. Look forward to sharing with all of you.
