Title: 1926 roadster
Post by: YBNORML on November 24, 2013, 12:24:19 PM
Here's a few pics of a car almost bought before I decided on the coach. The owner claimed to have driven it into it's resting spot 18-20 years ago. It was in really good condition. The only things I noticed were : incorrect doors, had a set of proper replacements. Trunk lid was missing. He has NOS replacements for the fenders.

I only passed due to size concerns. I'm 6-4" and I have a family of 5. I needed something with more interior space. Shoulda bought it and flipped it. It's sold now.

Do you have more pictures? That is nothing like my '26 Chevy roadster. It is cool though.

I do, I'm just trying to get them to post the right way. I think have it figured out. As far as the year of manufacture, I am just going by what the owner told me. The info could be wrong.

Thanks EDNY. Hopefully I have it figured out. iPads suck!

Nope! let me do some research and I'll post the rest of the pics once I figure it out.

I'm thinking Dodge. Another real car with a good engine and a real transmission. 8)

Unless someone changed the grill, I'm pretty sure it's a Chevy;) I would post all the pics but I'm having trouble getting them to sit right. I'm not exactly awesome with computers.

Suggestions:

1) Are you holding the IPad upside down :)
2) If not, hold it upside down when taking pictures ;D
3) If you still can't figure it out, find a kid under 10 years old to do it! ;D ;D

Haha. So true though.

I actually transferred the photos from my iPhone. I tried flipping the photos before posting them, all that does is make the thumbnail correct but when you click on it it's upside down.

It makes me glad I have a laptop.  ;D

The body, top, windshield, and doors don't look Chevy at least not '26 or any thing later. The hood looks '27or '28 and the running gear, from what I can see could be '25 to '28. The engine looks like my '28. I'm not an expert but just learning while gathering parts for my roadster. I don't know what the '24 and earlier 490 roadster bodies look like. Maybe they did it differently in Canada.

Makes me wish I had snapped a pic of the VIN.  I truly know nothing about these cars, I'm just going on what the owner said.

Here is a link to some Chevy roadsters. Some '23s with 1/4 elliptic springs but the bodies look a lot like '25 and '26 bodies.
