Tesla will eventually go down as one of the biggest scams ever. They duped the state if Nevada and the county I live in with promises ignored to build the Gigafactory here with virtually on environmental oversight to produce their lithium batteries. Then they moved on to Texas leaving this place working but unfinished.

I call them expensive play toys for the "well to do" folks.
My neighbors brother in-law and his wife (well to do) bought a pair of Tesla's last year on the "tax credit" deal. It's the only vehicles they have now. They came up for a visit this summer from El Paso Tx. It's a 620 mile drive right up US-54 highway to here. They had to make an extra 250 mile detour to get the charging done along the way🙄

One of my wife's 70+ year old friends bought one this spring. She is a widow and lives alone. We'll see how she feels next spring. It may be OK for her. She can charge it at home and doesn't do a lot of long range driving anymore.

A guy in Finland was so angry about the Tesla dealer/service place quoting him
some 20,000 for a new battery ( if memory serves), that he decided to
blow the whole thing to smithereens.
Link to the Tesla dynamitards (beware of horrifying Finnish accent):

The guy who bought the battery and engine before the car was blown up, claimed it was just a small component that had failed, and he was going to use the electric driveline in some old car. Maybe this illustrates how Tesla cares for its customers.
