I picked this up when I got my Essex frame. The guy said it was from a Chevy roadster. Does anyone know ?

Excellent detective work and you must know Plymouths. The secret to the identification is the UPPER BELT LINE on the quarter panel. Clearly matches the restored car pictures of the 1929 Plymouth model U.

Thanks vette59 and the rest of you. This was sitting on top of a big pile of sheet metal. I was thinking Dodge or Plymouth but wasn't sure. There may be more of it there. The guy I got it from drug it out of a gully. There is a '25-'26 Chevy cowl for sure.
A sad story? In the '40s my uncle fixed up a '32 Plymouth Roadster. On his first trip to town while he and his girlfriend were in the movies it was vandalized. He towed it back to the farm and it sat for years. I played in it when I was a kid. The body was perfect and the rest almost complete. When I was in the 8th grade I had plans for it. Times were tough and my dad was selling scrap metal. One day I came home from school and it and a '41 Dodge were gone along with a lot of old farm equipment. Just some melted ruber and cutting slag where they had been. :(

[/2 DAYS BEFORE WE WERE TO LEAVE THE PERSON THAT OWNED THE MODULAR HOUSE IN A PARK IN TAMPA FLA, TOLD US SHE HAD AN OFFER ON THE PROPERTY FOR CASH, TOOK IT , AND TRIP WAS OFF. THE PROBLEM WAS THE DEAL WAS ONLY GOOD IF THE BUYER COULD TAKE POSSESTION ON FRIDAY 6TH . SHE WAS GOING TO HAND IN THE KEYS AND WALK AWAY END OF JANUARY BECAUSE OF THE $700 A MONTH PARK FEES.
Basically we were paying her $750 for the month of feb for the park fees and me driving her truck there so she could take SOME things out.
So am ensconced here in whitby never getting to pack our bags. Yes it's damn cold out here, got to use snow blower 4 times so far.

Well the price was right , that would have been a good outing , But look what you would have come home to. And anyways think of it this way, you will be able to get to use the snowblower again today. I think we got somehwere around 9 or 10 inches..

Looked to be about 2" of fluffy white stuff on ground this morning, fired snow blower up and went at it. Was doing great went down street 100 feet and did neighbors side walk too, turned it around and walked into the -minus 20 whatever wind..........
HOLY CRAP, FREEZING FACE, not sure what wind chill factor was but face went numb in 60 seconds or less. I need a togue with mask, but I might be tempted to rob somebody to get to florida or an island.

A little over 70 here today and the weeds are preparing for battle. I went to my Inliner meeting this morning and found that there are no more parts of the Plymouth roadster. :( Maybe I can make a bench out of it until more turns up. ::)

it was minus 30 here today with the wind chill factor.......went looking for a SEAL SKIN FUR LINED THONG to operate the snow blower with and get the neighbours all excited.

It's been nice here lately, but it's about to change again. To bad there are no more parts for that roadster back half, but it might make a neat trailor for a hot rod.

I think you would be surprised and find those quarters a new home to somebody who needs them to continue on with their car build.
Why not offer them for sale on ebay USA

I'll hang on to them for a while, you never know what will turn up around here. I also have no problem with finding them a new home. There is a no reason why all of the body would have to be from Plymouth as long as they worked well together.

Nice try, Sixball! I've seen your work, you're as good as anybody here. I remember you cutting and splicing a valve cover a while ago. If I had tried that I would have had oil shooting all over the place. And sometimes you guys start talking about stuff and I want to chime in, but you guys are talking way over my head.

Oh, That. Did I forget to tell you that when I started grinding the welds that piece went to hell. :-[ The metal is very thin and those things aren't as straight as they look. I did however learn how to make the next one work. It will have to be cut in different places and fitted better before welding. Good thing I have a pile of GMC stuff. I also picked up a straight 8 valve cover that is way thicker and will only need one weld for length. 8) If I learned from my mistakes I be the smartest guy around. ;D

I thought that was how you learned, was making mistakes. Or you can buy a lesson :)
