Title: Which flywheel (part number) to use with SBC?
Post by: EDNY on December 09, 2014, 07:51:07 PM
Put this on my truck forum also:

Installing a 88 or 89 small block (350 one piece rear main) in front of a NV4500 and have the following flywheels.

14103283N (heavy)
14091599N
10105832

The 12" clutch/pressure plate bolts to all three 168 tooth flywheels...any recommendations?

Thanks

Ed if that's going in your 3500HD I would use the heaviest one.  It would help with engine torque with that SBC.   I used the big wheat truck one in my '57 (283/m22) when I built it, kept the momentum up on launch at the drag strip. Just my 2cts. :)

That's what I read somewhere...light unit for fast RPM and heavy for torque.

Thanks
