'36 Standard 5 window Running Boards
« on: April 07, 2014, 11:56:14 PM »
Is there a drawing/schematic that exists for the above running board.  Reason I ask is coming across a guy at a local swap meet who knows of a slew of unmarked fender, running boards etc but doesn't know exactly what they look like.  He suggested I e-mail him some pics with some dimensions and he'll take a look.....or.......possible one of you guys has a loose set you can take a couple pictures of and jot down some dimensions (overall/mounting points) so the he knows what he is looking for.

thanks,

Chuck

Chuck, for what it is worth, you can use these pics for a comparison. The '36 running boards stands out because of the extra long portion running under the front fender. These pics are off of ebay as I am making my own stock running boards  flat on top. The only differance between master and standard is the length. Its dark outside so in the morning ,I will try and measure my master running boards to give you a over all length. yours should be 4" shorter. Hope this helps you out. ;D ;D

Here you go Chuck, remember my running boards are 4 inches longer than your standard running board I am giving you the  "Standard " measurement for your running board.
Total length is  78 and 1/2 inches
length between the front and back fender well opening is 51 inches
width at back fender opening is 10 and 3/4 inches
width at front fender opening is 16 inches
I hope this will help you out.

More pics and I had to fight off the wasps that were trying to live in my coupe !  This is solely to give you some sort of an idea of what your looking for and the mounts to hold the running boards to the frame.

Great pics Bill....that helps alot.....thanks for your efforts.  It doesn't seem logical the 3 window running boards are longer than 5 window running boards.

Chuck, I'm not 100% certain, but I think it is the difference between the Standard and Master series.

Here's a link to just about everything to do with your '36, courtesy of The General.
