Well at one time I bought my Dad's 66 Caprice, 2 door, 283, auto console, red with black vinyl top.   I would love to have that back.

Then there was the 66 Nova, man what a car and fast.

Now it is a 30 Coach that I enjoy.

Till I bought the '36 coupe, my favorite car was a '56 Chev. Bought a 4 door, 6 Cyl  when I was 16, black and white so I primered all the white with red cause my uncle gave me a set of red leather Volvo buckets and a Hurst mystery shifter. The shifter I had backwards, reverse where 2nd was, then we split the exhaust and had 2 , 1 barrels carbs . Blew the engine up, found a '58 chev 6 put the gooodies on it and installed the motor my self.  Would have been nice if I knew that the motor was sitting on the tie road so it couldn't  move. Started the car up, let out the clutch and stomped on the gas . SOB , I flew straight across the road and through the neighbors fence and tore up his garden and knocked down some trees. He took it pretty good and I spent the entire weekend cleaning it all up.  My car was stolen one weekend and was found about  a 100 miles away on the side of the road.  No damage but it was out of gas and had a full gallon sitting in the back seat. Near as we can figure out, they didn't know where the gas filler was so they just left her there and never damaged the car . That car was my club house, and it  even seen a Little back seat action. Drove all weekend for 5 bucks and beer was only 20 cents a glass. If I have half as much fun with the coupe, I will be a very happy fellow.

3WBill .....it sounds like you could have grown up in my hometown.....from  some of the stuff you did ad a kid..in reading you post you could have been one of the guys we ran around with.... reminded  me of some of the stuff we did as kids working on cars, making sure we had a ride for Friday and  Saturday nites  and made sure we had some brew for an exciting weekend.  Those were the days

3WBill, great post. :) Since theres some love for 56 Chevs, heres a pic of a friends 56 four door pillarless. He imported it from the States. Its all original, and drives nice. Took this pic down the beach, on an overcast day, and love the contrast.
