My 1930 Chevrolet coupe
« on: December 12, 2014, 01:24:52 PM »
In 1994 the P.O. of my 1930 Chevrolet coupe started a stock restoration, lost interest, shoved it outside, painted it with maroon and white house paint and let it sit outside, unprotected, for 10 years.  I purchased it in 2004 with intentions of finishing the stock restoration.  After some clean up, some repairs and driving it for 6 months, I came home from attending the Bakersfield NSRA show with different intentions.

Here are pictures of my coupe from day one:

Great picture history!! The car looks to be in great shape, too.
Tighten it up til it strips, then back it off a quarter turn

Larry I must say you had a good foundation to start with, The way you cut out the original cross member so the Mustang II would fit in was a good ideal never seen that done before. It looks like your front end gave you some added drop also. Do you remember who's cross member you used?y

62131, I used a hub-to-hub from Fatman Fabrications.  The added drop is because their setup puts the spindle approx 1&1/2 inches above the bottom of the frame. I don't know if they still setup that way, but they did when I installed that one.
That was the third of four of their front ends I have installed.  They work well for me.

Here's a link to their website:

Larry,
Very impressive documentation of the build.  I like the way the cars sits.  I'm sure when you show up to a cruise or show there's not another one like it!  You should be real proud.

Spending time with my grandkids gets in the way of finishing my car but I don't regret it!
