Running board height sedan?

What is your running board height?  Setting up my son's 37 (4) door sedan front/rear suspension and right now have it mocked at approx 8" to 8.5" from the ground to the bottom of the running board.  Looks like good tire clearance so far?

Ed I wish I could answer your question but I have my car up on jack stands right now putting tubular a-arms on it. I was running the standard mustang II arms and brakes. I wanted to narrow up the front end so that could run 11" drilled and slotted rotors. I changed the front rims from 14" to 15", the 14"s would not fit over my calibers. Hopefully I will have it back on the ground soon, springs coming. If anybody is interested in some stock mustang II front end parts let me know as I will make them a deal.

My buddy just replaced the entire frame under his 39 sedan because he didn't like the handling of the car. It had a Camaro or Nova front suspension grafted in.

On the replacement frame he welded in a Mustang II and used 2" drop spindles...now it's too low. He already ordered a new set of standard spindles.

I'm using the stock spindles, I have a Heidt cross member that was already welded in, the person I bought the car from used stock mustang II arms and spindles and brakes. I knew that the 2" drop spindles would set the car to low. I want to get away from the strut rods running back to the frame.

What type of arms is he going to use?

He buys all of his stuff from Yogi's so what ever they sell...but the arms are round tube and is using coil overs.

I'm sure you know that you can drill out the cross member and weld in the (1" diameter) control arm bars and gussets so you can use the wide lower arms?

That sounds like good clearance. I usually set mine so I't can barely knock over a beer can.  ;D

That sounds like a waste of good beer! :(
Tighten it up til it strips, then back it off a quarter turn

12 or 16 ounce can?   ;D
Spending time with my grandkids gets in the way of finishing my car but I don't regret it!
