The other day I OFFICIALLY calibrated my speedometer . Before I went off a MPH sign that warns you when speeding, but that wasnt fully correct and I had it backwards when I set it (re-read the instructions) . I barrowed a (fully charged)  GPS and it read 75 at 60mph  :o .
Its correct now and can definatly tell it has 3.73's .
I felt brave enough driving it lately that I took it on the freeway to go visit the car-club at thier ususal meeting place on sundays.
Wooo, hoooo 65mph was a blast.
People next to me taking pictures and such. I also noticed I was givin plenty of room when changin lanes and no tailgaters .  ;D  This is one car that has to have full attention on the steering-wheel, no distrations, no talking on the cell because of the bias tires but no biggie I like it.
Picked me up a small 2.5in Tachometer. Its black and non racy lookin as to not draw attention away from the classic gauges . Its mounted and will be wiring that up this week .

Tach all mounted and wired. Guess I really have 3.73's now. The tach reads 3,000rpms when at 60.

Mirror brackets done. Its nice to have 2 mirrors and be able to see around the car.

I almost for got about these Pontiac center caps , I had them stashed for so long.

Took a pic at about 11pm. So I kept the shutter speed open for 6 seconds to produce this creepy night pic.

Also put a new rubber hose for the drain on the cowl vent so it dont drip on my feet anymore.

Looks like car-show season here is done and time to park it for the winter.
After my Opher trip it looks like I need to tighten a trans cooler line and get some new header bolts also gonna have to paint the headers while Im doin that .
But first ........... I need to clean the damn shop. I just been having too much fun driving around enjoying all that work put into her .
So OFFICIALLY I have to say Phase # 1 is done (getting it drivable) .
I'll throw this pic in here to end the season with.  8)

Sounds like a plan, Rattiac. But don't go away, there's plenty to do over the winter and plenty to post, right guys?
Tighten it up til it strips, then back it off a quarter turn

Oh no Im not goin away. Still have a ton of things to do but no moola for now.
I still never got my e-brake cables hooked up and Hitch for the TD built, also the rear leafspring bushings need to be done with probably more I can do over the winter. Already have that stuff so its free .
I really wanted to do some steelwork inside replacing the wood but not sure if that'll get done during this winter .
Maybe throw in a couple drives as well and still havent done a big-ass burnout either .

Hmmm, to be continued .......

Get your priorities straight!!!! The burnout goes at the top of the list.
Tighten it up til it strips, then back it off a quarter turn

I shifted gears a bit and decided to fix the leaky hatch on the teardrop . When I bought this I knew it needed a new hatch but the price was right.

Hatch rebuild.

Here's a look at the hinge . Not my work.
That needs to go. Im putting in the proper hinge . Called a Hurricane Hinge.

By , by old hatch.
I may be able to re-use some of the white aluminum for repairs for the lower section.

Looking under the old hatch is was badly done. Big gaps where the cross supports were cut too short. Spacers between the trim and body.
This thing flexed like a jeep going through a rock garden . ;D

Built the new frame .
Dont mind all the camping gear . It gets used as storage for winter months.
Almost no flex with this frame..
