This is fun to watch. I'm going to have to make a couple of pieces for my roadster. I'm not a sheet metal guy. Thanks.

Thanks guys but there really isn't nothing to that, the tool does the work. Hardest skill is accurate measure and scribe lines, trying to crank bead roller while keeping a straight line :)

Rattiac, Jegs carries the Eastwood bead roller kit and has the best price ($149.99) Eastwood and Northern tool (Klutch) sell it for $159.99. Eastwood carries the fence for $39.99.

Looked at some simple sheet metal breaks, man they get pricey after 30" models. The Northern Tool Klutch brand 30" sells for $89.99. Summit had a cheesey looking 30" for $49 Sale/ $59 reg.
I haven't used either, was just looking around.  I suppose it depends on how long your uppers are, I've had to butt weld 2 pieces together after bending to get the length i've needed before.

Before. I was dreading this project. But now im kinda excited about tackling this.  ;D

I was looking at the Eastwood roller. I dont think I'll need a big one, so this 8" should work fine for what I do.
I will go 30" on the brake. I think the longest piece for the front doors is 24". Haven't heard anything bad about the HF breaks yet but summit may have them beat in price.

Sammons.
Looking at your pic of the sheemetal brake. What kind of brake is that ?
Noticed the 2 handles.

Looking at some of the cheaper ones, im not crazy about having to clamp things down. I may buck up a bit for this.

That northern looks decent but backorders.

Rattiac I'm sorry but its been too many years ago, I don't recall the brand :(  The two handles on the top of mine are the escentric lock downs that hold the metal. The bottom right is the brake handle, you pull up to bend. It really needs another handle on the left for larger bends, at 38" max length its hard to get the left bent. I use big water pump pliers on that end, i've been gonna weld another handle on for 20yrs.   Have to do that some day ;)    Having to clamp down the metal would be a pain, but probably cheaper to buy.

No biggie. I may end up getting the 36" HF bender.

I've had this piece hanging around for awhile and decided to cut it down just for a test fit. Not bad.
Time to make a few more bends at work.

That looks good to me. I saw this on eBay yesterday and thought of you. There may be some info like spring interchange that could help you.

Thanks sixball. I may pick that up.

Hopefully at our local "metal mart" they have
1.5" I.D. square tubing. Starting to make patterns for the top rails. There's a bend at the rear of each door I need to make.
As soon as the snow flies, it's tear down time.

Went for a drive the other day to check out my buddies 67 Caddy limousine. Wants the headliner done. He has a English bulldog also.

Rattiac   I'm glad your happy with it. I welded my ash tray hole closed due to the fact that I made a steel cowl support, then I boxed it in and used it for my defrost duct and then drilled holes on top of my dash panel and covered them with some vent grilles to get my defrost air to the windshield.

After looking under the dash. It looks like it'll be best if I wait until I pull the dash to hook up the defrost.

Time to change gears for a moment.

It looks like the 32 is suffering from a bad case of
"Gangster lean"  :o.
Leans to the left rear. Starting to become very noticeable now.
Time for new rear leafsprings. Since my neighbor works for AAA spring, I have the hookup.
Gonna pull the RR leafspring since it's more arched and have them copy that.
Once the frame is properly level I can start ripping out the wood. 8)

Once it was burped out, the heater is much better.
So far im impressed.  8)

Im pretty sure the old 160° was toast.
