Went for a drive today to flush some new gas through the system.
Saw this "old west town" and decided to rob the bank.  ;)
Probably last pic with the whitewalls .

Gotta be careful robbing banks, could end up with some bullet holes in that Pontiac ;D
Cool pics!
Spending time with my grandkids gets in the way of finishing my car but I don't regret it!

Well you can't rob gas stations anymore unless you paint a pistol on you credit card. ::)

Had a scary incident on the way home from there.
I drove on one of our newer highways since it was smoother. Going over a bridge there was a bump and the car just went left :o . Thankfully nobody was next to me.
I think I'll be putting the stabilizer shock back on and the tires will be gone next week.
I can't take it anymore. They look cool but handing sucks.

I think I'll start trying to find me a overdrive transmission this summer. Going with the th2004r. Looking online monster transmissions had a built unit for $900 ish. Seems like a decent deal.

Welcome to the dark side !!!
Phase 2 (improving driveability) is finally done.
Whitewalls are officially gone. Putting radials on helped a lot. No more avoiding lines/seams in the road. This is huge. 8)

why do you think the Pontiac went hard to one side when you hit a bump ?

Aren't the whitewalls radials ?

Note.........if your going 700-R4 or 200-R4, if your going to be running a holley carb, you need a special bracket $40 ??? that attaches to the carb that changes the PULL ANGLE on the TV cable into the trans.

The cable has to be adjusted perfectly as per instructions so the trans does burn out.  I am pretty sure ATI trans makes makes the bracket.  Also Holley also now offers it too. For the 700-R4 they ATI also make a special, plug 4 gang , that goes into the electrical connection and also a special plug into a pass side port on the side of the trans that makes the 88--91 700-R4 shift into overdrive.

Have one of these on my 35 coupe with 700-R4 for years , late 90's .  I bought all the stuff for a 700_R4 but decided will go to a tremec 6 speed stick, unless I decide to not do the tremec

Nope, bias plys. I think it was the angle the bridge I crossed was at. In construction zones where asphalt and concrete are seamed together the car would do a pretty good wiggle that scares the crap out of ya. :o :(

Drives so much better now. ;D

While the weather was good yesterday. Had a flat tire fixed  as well as the spare was leaking. Also had them balanced but it started snowing on my way home so I couldn't tell if there was any difference.
Got tired of pumping up that tire every day.

Operation ;  Cooler cruising has begun.  8)

Went to a radiator shop near me to see what they recommend. Nitrile camper tape they said seems to hold up the best.
1.) Camper tape 1.25"
2.) 11" fan
3.) Thermastatic fan control.
4.) 1.25" aluminum angle.
5.) EBay rubber bumper (3)
6.) Square mud flap pieces.
7.) 1/4" bolts/nuts, lock washers.

Im starting to use this hoist a lot lately. 3rd hand.

Radiator re-mounting and electric fan install is done.
1st pic. ) EBay rubber bumpers
2.)  Stud facing down with red loctight.
3.) Side cradles with camper tape.
4.) Top mounts. Used a piece of mud flap between existing  bolt holes.
5.) Can barely see the electric pusher fan behind the grill.

RATTIC , take that stupid non functioning aluminum fan and deposit it in nearest scrap pile.  SERIOUSLY those things are useless....ya ya I can see bigger pitch and all that.........its scrap.

Get yourself a DERALE 6 blade all steel or main part steel, blades aluminum.  Come in various lengths, make sure short enough to clear lower inlet hose.

IF IT DOESN'T WORK I WILL SEND YOU THE $40 COST !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

TEST....start engine and run at 650--700 rpm idle.  Place cloth t shirt or cloth diaper foot away from grill mesh, then start moving it toward the mesh, when air grabs it and pulls t shirt/diaper to the mesh and holds it there, that's what you want.   Test first with alum flex you have on there and then do DERALE fan and test.

If I am wrong you get $40 USA money !!

post the results

You do know this is the derale heavy duty fan, right ?  ;)

Though I will take you up on your challenge. I need the 15" unit. Not sure if the 17" will work on the drivers side.
Provide a link through jegs, summit or other and I'll order it today.  ;D

So, the project for today is new trans cooler lines.
I may have to shorten them up a bit. A small splice with rubber hose will do,  in the event I add an aux cooler down the road.
