Obviously we have spammers reading our posts, with that in mind we need to use caution when dealing with anyone offering or even selling parts.   I recently had one newer HAMB member banned after he offered me parts on the HAMB site, I got suspicious and reported him...this can and will happen...so please be careful.

On a daily basis we reject known spammers from signing up to this forum...but again, be careful and if you are selling parts don't be offended if the buyer wants to confirm that you are legit.

I get them a lot. They will give you more money then you asked for.  And my shipper will pick it up. O.K. Right.

I had one GUY email me through craigs list and tell me that I hadn't replied yet to his question about the item I was selling. I got the same request on three adds I had going and I was sure it was scam. He didn't even name the item in question.

Ive seen these low lifes about from time to time, and wonder what sort of people fall for it. Its so obvious these lazy low lifes are fake, that i fail to see how anyone could get sucked in. The old saying of, 'if it sounds to good to be true...' applies here.

The more successful a website becomes, the more spammers it attracts.  On one site I have been on for years where they get a million visitors every month, it is a full time job for several of the mods to keep the spammers at bay.  One of the mods mentioned to me that there is actually a website which lists known spammers so you can avoid letting them into your site.

We have a spammer app built into the registration process that works pretty good at flagging suspect and/or known spammers.
