The only way i see that being handy would be on a flatbed rollback. The winch is low and reaching up high for the van or higher vehicles, it may drag as apposed to flipping it back over.  No reason i can think of for a gin pole or boom wrecker as the cable is already up high.

I had to get my Blazer back on it's wheels once and my wife tipped one of Jeeps on its side. A tow truck guy did more damage than she did. I was lucky with the blazer didn't even break a window.
