Clutch/Brake pedals suggestions for my 34
« on: January 06, 2022, 11:28:49 AM »
Really considering installing a manual transmission in my 34 (3W coupe). Looking for suggestions at to which aftermarket clutch/brake pedal unit you may have used (with stock firewall).  Prefer to use a firewall mount vs a chassis unit.

On another note...haven't had any luck trying to locate a T5 or T56 setup...if anyone knows of one for sale let me know.  I'll also need a flywheel for a 2 piece rear main crankshaft.

That looks like a nice setup.
Stay with an auto and get Chopper's 200R4.  ::)

Haha! Yea, Ed, it's all yours!
Tighten it up til it strips, then back it off a quarter turn

So tempting...my THM350 in my 34 has been giving me problems..that's why I want to go manual.  I do have a 700R4 to put in it but they are larger and longer than the 200R4.  I could use my drive shaft as is with your 200R4....what is your zip code?  Maybe I can contract with a USHIP contractor?

Chopper

If no one else wants it...PM me your zip code..I'll check with uship.com for an estimate.  I could send you a tailshaft yoke and would request that bolt a board up front to secure the torque converter.  Shippers like to hear that fluids have been removed...just tipping the front up so fluid can drain out the tailshaft would work.  Then just insert and secure the yoke.

That would be a good move. I think all you'd have to do is move the cross member back a little or build a new mount. Other than that it's the same size. The throttle cable is not a simple kick down like the 350 but they make kits if you need one. My friend has been hammering one behind a 390 Cadillac for years.

Still looking for a shipper...has a few bids from shiply.com ranging from $441 to $580. According to their page shipping should be around $200...but these guys submitting quotes are charging "round trip mileage".   Sure glad UPS, FEDEX and USPS don't charge for return trips.  The intent of these shipping sites were to have drivers pick up supplemental loads along their scheduled departure and return trips.  Still looking...maybe I can drop a post on the HAMB?

If you have a Fastenal Store close by check with them, to my understanding they will carry personal freight on their company semis as they move product from warehouses to stores, I've been told the rates are good.
