Oh hell no, he's back
« on: February 02, 2021, 08:15:22 PM »
Howdy fellas, been a while!  I didn't disapear on purpose.  This summer a group of well meaning friends decided I needed internet and Roku(?) Tv.
10 hours before my surprise installation
one decided he had better warn me so I wouldn't chase off the installer. I argued to no avail.  I don't have a computer (except my old shop book keeping Tandy 1000) and my free OTA antenna works fine.
During install ones wife (head honcho) grabbed my phone and started poking stuff in. "There, you have internet on your phone". Hell I already have that!  Well she pushed something she shouldn"t have and I lost all internet acces with exception of any apps i had. I took to phone store.....no go, you havevto send off for ? and probably cost more than new phone😡

Sunday an friend i hadn"t seen in years stopped by with his buddy. Was telling me to check out his project on the net. Told him of my problem, his buddy said "let me have a go"
Air Force (ex) to the rescue! 😁 A bit awkward but easy enough on back on. Seems two competing programs (Google chrome and Samsung (browsers?) update/installs were fighting for control and niether were complete on download.

I try and keep in touch with Ed (Fatnlow) and his wife every couple months by phone.
So......take a while to catch up, hope you all have been in health!

Sammons,
Great to have you back!  Don't let anyone touch your phone again ;D  You have a lot of catching up to do!

Spending time with my grandkids gets in the way of finishing my car but I don't regret it!

Glad you are back! My old flip phone will quit working soon so I have to find something newer. Not looking forward to it mostly because I don't know the jargon. My borderline dyslexia causes all the acronyms to make as much sense as a bowl of alphabet soup.

Hey Tom. Ya, seems like every time someone does they screw something up. I probably won't make 6-7 months catch up reading😁

Hi Ed, good to get back on.  The fella said i could have put newer phone on wifi/hot spot (?) and sinked one of my old phones up and got back on line. Haha, ya like i could have figured that out🥴

Well....lol, if it weren't for the R.A. progresson i would be great!  Last 2 months it's really hitting my knees.  Oh, broke my big toe 2 days before X-mas....that's been fun lol

Sixball, that sounds like me. Don't want to upgrade, they always get more complicated to do simple things. The crap they havr pre installed/functions i have no use for. I hate change!  Plus they say the new ones don't have a removable battery.  With this unwanted Goverment installed covid tracker, i either pull battery to take my phone with me or just leave it at home. That's some real B.S. there!

Awesome,  your back  8)

I let my new phone sit for a week before I opened it.
Knowing what a PITA it was going to be getting switched over.

Good to have you back Sammons. I had to switch my phone about a month ago. I was against it, but had no choice. You get used to it quick, and I have to admit, it really is better.
Tighten it up til it strips, then back it off a quarter turn

Hey Chopper, congrats on the retirement man!

Ed, did you get back on the '33 yet?

Fatnlow if I lived anywhere else, i'd be tired of the mask too. I had to put one on couple months back to get into one of the two banks here. 5 mins and it was driving me nuts.  Now the sign changed to "If your sick...stay out".😁

Put the 33 on the side burner and have been working on getting back into the handgun shooting sports this year. Modifying my revolvers, range props and getting in casting bullets...only because the bullets I want are all sold out!  Reloading stuff prices are crazy!

But did pick up a frame for my 34 Chevy...here's the story:

Ed that's cool, glad you found one, (lol or two). I searched for 2 years for a Master chassis when i got my 5-window, finaly give up. After getting started on the 3w, some showed up🥴.

Dang, had brain fade this morning. Couldn't remember the round about way of getting here again.

62131, thanks!  Yep, now that I can use it again nobody gets to poke on this thing but me.
