Found The Gasket King Contact info!
« on: April 14, 2020, 07:54:06 PM »
Here’s a cool story with my Dads 34 Chevy Roadster late 80’s! Back in the 80’s there was no world wide internet! It was Hemmings magazines, newspapers just to name a few and the ability to sniff out parts in back yards! That was my seasoned Dad working on and building old cars since the 40’s!
Hot Rodder’s were his favorite source of parts to build his stock and original antique cars!
I also got a big box of 1934 Chevrolet books with cross reference books! My Dad was very detailed with all his notes with dates, cost, labor hours, and pages of Chevrolet contact names list with phone numbers! One name that stood out was Mike Hairball mikemike3435 name with Mike’s phone number with Gasket King Company as a contact! Plus my local friends mechanics also recognized that company’s name and bought head gaskets from that company over 30 years ago! So the moral of this story we’re all in this together with this great hobby of our old cars!

yes, very int4eeresting and in that LIST of names Rory shared with me was a name and address of a guy I had been searching for since late 80's as I had lost his contact info.

He had 3 ----1934-1935 Chevrolet standard roadsters which he was restoring, all of them were black acrylic lacquer . He had a 34 I drove down to see that was in need of restoring....street rodding it was my plan.  Price was $8500 for a good car sheet metal.  Wanted him to include or sell me a pair of NOS complete 34-35 running boards, as he had 10 pair.  Nope on either deal.  So left and came home on a 4 hour drive upper NY state/penn border to Ontario.

What he did have that intrigued me all these years was a right hand drive 1934 Chevrolet master series Phaeton, apparently built in Australia and loaded with every option you could purchase for them.

Had factory....: cigar lighter in dash, aero stream wheel shields for rear fenders, luggage rack fitted onto an accessory trunk, bumper guards, cowl lights, rear view mirror with clock, factory radio, fog/driving lights, right hand tail light, robe rail on back of seat, foot rest on floor, also had dual side mount spares with mirrors, wind wing glass deflectors mounted on posts.  Car was a dark mukiti dun olivey green with dark leather ?? interior.

Until I bought my standard phaeton 1935 3 years ago I had never seen another one, other than 34 master in NY.
