Lol Learned that back in '75 when I started working at the Mobil service station. We had a new family move to town, had a 69-70 Impala. Someone had over tightend the Fram filter, we had to use the channel locks and ripped the can apart. Had the use chissel on base to get it spinning off. Man that was cheesy material in there. About three weeks later our Michelin rep came to adjust tires, had us change oil on his ford pickup, Fram filter. We cut it apart, same cheesy material.
Shocked us, we had always seen the Fram decals on Drag cars and Amt models. Thought they were quality, not so! We used Purolator until 1978 then switched to Wix. In the 90s our local parts house that carried Wix filters put out a display with filters cut open, couldn't believe Fram hadn't changed.
