FIGURE 51. STANDING LENTICULAR ALTOCUMULUS CLOUDS. Standing lenticular altocumulus clouds are formed on the crests of waves created by barriers in the wind flow. The clouds show little movement, hence the name standing. Wind, however, can be quite strong blowing through such clouds. They are characterized by their smooth, pol- ished edges. The presence of these clouds is a good indication of very strong turbulence and should be avoided. Chapter 9, "Turbulence," further explains the significance of this cloud.

Well the picture didn't make it but this is what they are. We see them here quite a lot in the rain shadow of the Sierras. We call the flying saucer clouds like your alien reference.

Nice scenery Rattiac!
Spending time with my grandkids gets in the way of finishing my car but I don't regret it!

Sixball……….say what?! You some kind of junior meteorologist??
Rattiac, looking at these pictures.....must make you want to be a professional camper. Beautiful.
Thanks guys. I was going to take a picture of the finished loop, but it would just be the same loop, only black. I installed it today. Tomorrow I'll put in the drive shaft after it's paint is dry. I don't imagine I will be able to tell the difference in driveshafts, but I am looking forward to trying it out, and I will have piece of mind with the loop.

I just copied the cloud information from another site. It was for pilots and was information about flying conditions around different cloud formations.

When im not doing convertible tops, this is what we are usually doing. Dealership work. Mostly repairs to seats. Nobody wants to buy a car with tears in the seat.

Now most people think once a tear or hole in the seat begins, they have to cover the whole seat. Not true.
We call it panel work. If the side of the seat wears out we can replace just that section or panel.

Example:::::;
I fixed this Acura seat backrest and bottom. The leather perforation shrinks and tears. We matched up the colors and ordered in some perf leather. OR you can use vinyl to last longer.
Pic 1 & 2.

Pic 3 is a Subaru seat, I replaced the side panels on.
We also fix the foam that gets smashed or cut from the frames which are usually stamped sheetmetal and sharp as hell.

At this moment im working on a H2 drivers seat.

Getting colder up here!  Took a ride in the 33 today.  Not sure if it'll be the last.

Gettin' arty Tom! Pretty leaves!

My son got a decent forked horn yesterday. I've got 8 more days but don't know how many I'll hunt. It was 38 degrees here last night and didn't get above that today. Supposed to be 19 tonight. That's the end of the garden. I picked all that was left today.

Yea, Tom, maybe you missed your calling. ;)
Sixball, how big of a garden, and what did you plant? One of my sons planted a couple things this summer: peppers, cauliflower, watermelon. The watermelon was coming in great, but didn't realize the watering that was required and they split in half.

My gardening success here is spotty at best, a short season, 6,000' elevation, on the north side of the mountain. The tomatoes had big plants but few tomatoes.Squash didn't make big fruit. Carrots didn't even show up. Cucumbers did well and I put up 6 gallons of hot mustard pickles & 6 quarts of bread & butter pickles. I picked the last of the peppers yesterday jalapeños, habanero, and hot banana. They all did well and were really producing up till yesterday. I did 6 quarts each of jalapeños and hot bananas and have enough for a few more. I may do an "end of the season" hot relish that combines all the things I have left. It's an easy way to to clean it up. I am trying to figure out whats wrong. I need to send some soil samples for testing. It is all in raised beds where the front lawn used to be. I've had some great years. I had a couple of small water melons and a couple of cantaloupes. Okra didn't do well. There is some chard left. Green beans and snow peas did OK but not great. There seems to be a bunch of horse radish, haven't dug any yet. I think some of the problem is that I crowd stuff, I'm pretty pushy.  ::) All in all It is something I enjoy and it takes me back. The dirt and the water are here so why not try.

My son got a nice buck Saturday morning and I have 8 days left to fill my tag. The boys may come back this weekend to help me. I'll do some walking around her till then. It cool to be able to hunt in the back yard and maybe shoot from the porch.  8)

My boss used to get trailer loads of coffee and put it on his garden . Helps with our soil here.
There was a bit that spilled on his grass. The grass turned bright green and grew way faster.

It snowed here Sunday and bitter cold today.
I think I'll just stay inside tonight and work on part 2 of the video. Have another 40mins of footage to trim down.

Sounds like you have quite a garden with a great variety. My son grew all of his out of pots because he was down the shore and we have zero yard to dig up, it is all asphalt and concrete. My Dad used to have a nice garden every year. He would pickle tomatoes and cucumbers and make sauerkraut, it tasted good, but that stuff could really stink up a house as it fermented ::)
Rattiac, please don't bring up snow, I got my fingers crossed for a mild winter.
