John, good to see ya back. Wondered what you had been upto.
Sometimes you have to let a project go as time and money get in the way. Glad you'll be getting back on the 'ol 55  :)

Took a ride to check out the fall foliage here in New Hampshire.
Spending time with my grandkids gets in the way of finishing my car but I don't regret it!

Nice picsTom. My Aunt just told me lastnight that her son had gifted her a trip to New England this week (15th-21st) for her birthday. Hope she won't be too late.

Sammons, The northern part of the state is at peak now.  Mid New England will be at peak this week.  Southern New England will follow the week after.  Some real nice colors this year!

Nice day for a ride.  Won't be long before it's put away for the winter.

Had Friday off .Went to a "Teardrop trailer gathering" in City of rocks, Idaho.  8)
Was susposed to stay 2 nights. Weather was mostly windy, then took a turn for the worse Saturday afternoon.  dumped an inch of snow in a half hour , thunder and lightning, 30+mph winds.😬
I decided to leave early since my tires are near bald.
Turns out my house broke a pipe while gone.
Something was telling me to get home.

Tom, you gotta get those last of the season drives in. Enjoy, springs a long way off! :D

Rattiac, been on a few of those bad fall camp outs :(  A friend of mine went away for the weekend and their icemaker line broke and flooded bedrooms down stairs. Damn mess.

Finished all of the Elcamino except for final blocking. He got the new tailgate shell in, bad crimp on right side and damage frieght that end also :(  Was getting it all lined up when the right hinge pin broke >:( so be a week getting a new set.

I let a buddy stay with me while he was moving back here. His wife died last year (39yrs married) and he needed a change. Problem being... that 2-3 weeks has turned into the house guest from hell! Still here 3 months now!  Don't know how his wife dealt with him. So far he's been banned from my driveway (muddy p.u.), frige (a beer every 15mins), my bathroom (floor pisser), smoking in my garage (chain smoker).
Give him a deadline of next week period!! Brother wants to come out for visit.

I've been hauling my '26 roadster project down the hill to a friend's shop where he and another friend will help me put it together.  Just getting all the pieces sorted out and organized in a different shop is a good thing. The empty space in my shop is good too. I'm trying to only move the actual parts we need and filter out the "extra" pieces that came with design changes but there are still many choices to be made. Both of them lean to a bit more modern style than I want to do but I was promised it's my car and my choice. These guys are good and have done a lot of nice builds. They will do a lot when I'm not there. I am going the get some of the components done here before taking them down that way I can work on it here without going down there. Things like carb rebuild, finish distribtuter.  modify & rebuild transmission/OD, make valve cover adaptor, tranny adaptor, a bunch of the little stuff.

One of the real plusses is that one of the guys is a much better metal worker than me so we will be able to things with the frame that are beyond me. Also the task of putting the body together will be in more hands.

Also having another guy rebuild the trans in a '92 Suburban I came by when my good friend died in August. I'll have a 4X4 this winter. The same guy is going to do extensive work on my '70 Blazer and I can build a 292 six for my flatbed. Lots to do and lots of help! Life is good!

Ed, I forwarded your post to my brother.  He got a good laugh!  I keep asking our friends if they need a roomy, they say "Nah, your doing a great job".   Texted one who asked several weeks ago if he got moved out, "Sure, I think that would be great if he stayed with you for a couple weeks or months". His response was "Sorry buddy, sucks to be you! ;D"   I got a kick out of that one.

Send him here. My wife wouldn't know the difference and I could go somewhere else.  8)

Glad to see your gonna get a chance to get on that '26! Sounds like you have the right help.

Sammons, You are right. she'd figure it out. I don't smoke.  ::)

I'm excited about the '26. I spent yesterday working on the tranny adapter.  I found a bearing retainer that fits the trans and the adapter but have to locate the bolt holes. Going to try to deliver the components in working condition so they can focus on the "build" part.
