I would love to do that! At only 60 vehicles it will sell out the first day of registration. I cold do a slam and get my 1919 Essex racer together. Essex ran 4 cars on the Lincoln Highway they same year to lobby for a mail contract. They sent 2 from each coast, the all made it in less than a week. At the north end of Carson City there are some freeway decorations, large metal cutouts depicting Ike and his convoy. On if the Lincoln Highway alignments goes through Dayton NV near here. A box of Lincoln Highway marker signs were found here a few years ago.

Im only going to join when they come through Utah and follow to the Nevada state line.
This depends if they are taking the dirt route (pony express/LH .
If they take I-80 that would be too boring and I'll do something else. :(

Maybe I could meet you at the Utah/Nevada line and you could pass the baton. I've read about a dirt section somewhere South of Salt Lake that comes out somewhere between McGill and Windover. I used to have it on a map. I bet they stick close to I80 at least in our desert country.  Part of 50 was a later alignment.

Im up for a meeting at the U/N border.

I sent an email to LH asking which route they are taking. Already asked for Sept 11-12 off when they pass through here.

If they dont take the dirt route. I'll do it anyway. 😁
I ain't scared.

That sounds like fun. I'll find that piece of road I was reading about. When the article I saw was written there was a gas station-store and bar out there. I doubt if the Essex will be together but the '70 Blazer should be. Thats old enough especially if we take our own road. Need to see how close that is to Speed Week.

We'll need pics of this epic event!
Spending time with my grandkids gets in the way of finishing my car but I don't regret it!

I finally got an email back. It's $80 a day with a two day minimum to join the tour. :o ::)

At that cost , I think I'll change my plans and just wait till speedweek to take that route and meet up with sixball. 8)

That sounds like a plan. My friend really wants to go to Speed Week this year. We haven't been in a while. Maybe I'll watch them go by when they come through here. It looks like they will use the alignment from Fernley to Reno.

Just checked: Speed Week is August 10-16.
