33 CHEVY 2 DR NY

(1/2) > >>

EDNY:
Not sure if I have seen this rear trunk style on a 33 before?

madmike3434:
that's called a close coupled sedan/coach and the fitted trunk is the fore runner to the trunk built in.  The body appears to be shorter to accommodate the trunk.  Sometimes you see these with a special small luggage rack attached to the back panel of the trunk.

I do not know what the correct Chevrolet FISHER BODY model number is.  This was used on 1933 master series and 1934 master series .    I know I have seen a few 34 masters made into street rods back in the 1970--1980 era.

went searching on google for 33 master and came up with pictures including a factory photo of one.
Apparently the correct terminology is a TOWN SEDAN.
Note the short side window for rear.
Also note the unusual license tail light bumper mount arm

EDNY:
Thanks Mike...great information!

Noticed that the body line at the point where the trunk and body meet does not transition very well?

sixball:
A nice looking Car. I'm always impressed by the number of models Chevrolet produced in any given year. Glad someone is here post what they find an someone to sort it out for us.  :)
